Lifted stitches are amazing and it looks like they have countless uses. I am officially an even bigger fan of them now.

yap...i personally would stop teaching M1R and M1L altogether and skip to the "good" part :P haha

This is quite clever, I love learning new techniques, THANKS ! It is good to be able to match KFB with this SKL. Gratitude !

yeah, I really felt like filling this gap - even though I rarely knit KFB..but for those occassions when I do..this really DOES come in handy.

my pleasure, Rachel! It is such a lovely technique I feel deserves so much more attention!

Thank you, Norman. Your tutorial is excellent (as always!) and I particularly appreciate the helpful tip to smoothly pick up the just-knitted loop from the right needle. Pairing this increase with kfb will be great for toe-up socks and top-down raglans - can't wait to give it a try!

yep..indeed. rumor has it i am working on a toe-up sock tutorial and maybe..just very maybe that's why I published this tutorial today. But who knows..it shall remain a mystery for now, right? :P

Love it! I’m off to swatch now as, last night, I frogged a jumper half way through as I didn’t like the look of the increases. 🙏🏻❤️
@nimbleneedlestwo2 жыл бұрын
ha! well maybe this will provide a solution. Though, as for right-leaning increases, KRL and KLL will always remain my favorite pair...this here will be a little bit more on the ornamental side - which of course can be stunning in the right kind of circumstances and the right knitting stitch pattern.
@caro15912 жыл бұрын
@@nimbleneedlestwo You’re right! I’ve swatched. Both were better than M1L & M1R with the yarn and fairly loose gauge required in the pattern but the KLR & KLL are definitely the best. Thank you!

You're tutorials are so clear and you have a lot of interesting things to teach us. (Ps just letting you know that in the description you mistyped and said "decorative decrease line" while it's increases)

ah..thank you for that. Most indeed! i fixed it :P

Norman, your tutorials are so-o easy to follow and understand. But, I have confused myself on a couple of the stitches I was trying to follow in making socks and looking at the increasing videos in your playlist🫤 Is SKL or KRL increase the same as M1L? And KLL increase is the same as M1R? I want to make myself a personal card file on stitches I find helpful to me in the future. Thank you in advance! Sabrina Portland Oregon 😊
@nimbleneedlestwo Жыл бұрын
none of these increases are the same but they do have a similar lean. Maybe check out this resource on my blog: nimble-needles.com/knitting-techniques-library/

Hi Norman! Thank you for your videos. ❤ I have a problem with the M1R and the SKL. They do not lean to the right for me but left instead. The left leaning increases are fine. What am I doing wrong? 😢
@nimbleneedlestwoКүн бұрын
KIndly take a look at the swatch at the end of this post: nimble-needles.com/stitches/how-to-knit-skl-slip-knit-lift/ SKL is always right-leaning. you are not doing anything wrong. However, that doesn't mean you cannot use it on the right side of your work either. Lean is NOT the way the slant of the fabric. It's just the slant of the additional stitch you create.

Thanks so much, Norman. I really thought I was doing something wrong. ❤. Eva

Would I be able to interchange this and kfb with m1r and m1l?
@nimbleneedlestwo2 жыл бұрын
yes...will look differently but there are many other left- and rightleaning increases!
@wintersfire11822 жыл бұрын
Theoretically, wouldn't this also work by knitting the first stitch through the back loop to twist it instead slipping it knit-wise?
@nimbleneedlestwo2 жыл бұрын
while you can certainly do that, the result would be a different increase. KTBL twists the stitch the other way round.
