The full drama llama: The story is that I told them that I could do the video within 2 weeks of receiving the product. Then, even before I received the product, they started pestering me about the video. One of the emails had the phrase "When will you surprise us with the video". The tone of the email put me off so I moved them down a few notches on my todo list. They kept being pushy so it got moved to my "I'll get to that in a few days" list. Well a month goes buy and I get an email saying "Don't make us get our lawyers involved". And suddenly they got moved to the top of my "You can bite my fuzzy backside" list, where they stayed for the next five months.

I was able to avoid the threats by paying money for mine. Great printers. Have a couple of them already and adding another. I was coming from the old school Brother style printers which have been around for decades which print on TZ & TZe label. This style is far more versatile. The only downside I have is that I can't write with a pen on the label because it has a slick surface. Sharpie kind of works though.

I DEFINITELY wouldn't have reviewed it 😅 I have a few no-name tools I haven't done vids on because they hassled me aggressively about the video they wanted me to do for free in exchange for a tool that cost them $5 to make.
@denoftools2 жыл бұрын
It's funny because it's the no name tools that try to make all sorts of demands. They try to get me to sign a contract, agree to final video approval, control what I say and then demand all sorts of links to shady websites. HF sent me that Icon box years ago with the comments of. "Let us know what you think".... That's it. I've found the the more reputable a company is the less demands they make. The only large company that I had any issues with is Milwaukee. They contacted me about 4 years ago and said they were going to add me to their new tools distro list. I thought I was reassuring the PR rep when I told them I would make sure to disclose the source of the tools. Nope, I got black listed instead. Every yeah some new rep over there reaches out to me and says they are looking for new creators to work with and then they go to get approval and crickets. I spoke to the head of their PR last month and flat out asked why I had been black listed. She denied that was the case. So then I asked why they continue to work with creators who don't disclose they received free tools or even free trips. Her response was... "Milwaukee never pays for reviews". I pointed out that she hadn't answered my questions. And again... crickets.

That label should really read: "Du bist eine Ratte". Indeed German's tough, or as they themselves freely admit, "Deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache" [= "German language, hard language"]. As a fairly unpleasant sort who lived yonder many years, grown well used to being the brunt of such insults, I might further suggest amping that one up just a tad after the local idiom with a nice adjective like "schmutzige" or "miese" or "dreckige", all of which mean variations on "filthy" or "lowdown". Think Jimmy Cagney. Hence, for example: "Du bist eine miese Ratte" [pronounced: "Doo bisst ay-nuh mee-zuh rat-tuh"], simply rings more authentically Teutonic. As for that gizmo, analog elder that I am, I think I'll pass on that doodad, preferring the simple old school tactile pleasures of my ancient typewriter-like Dymo Labeler squeezing out those plastic embossed strips--rotate wheel, squeeze trigger, rotate wheel, press, etc. Very satisfying. And besides, those clowns should be made to appreciate that if they mess with The Bear they mess with roughly a quarter million "us."

Unless you signed a contract stating you'd have a review for their product within a given time frame... which it doesn't sound like you do, threatening lawsuits is just dumb and pointless. Pushing for reviews before the content has even been delivered... what, did they ship the product without a godamn tracking code? How amateur hour is this company?
@homesteadlife68542 жыл бұрын
You could always ... you know KEEP YOUR WORD. If you said you'd have a review out in 2 weeks, then do it that simple. Remember a time when being a man meant doing what you said you'd do? You admit to pushing the review back simply because you took offense to their tone? What are you a 60 year old Karen. Don't go asking for free things if you can't keep up your end of the deal. Men who can't keep their word is just a part of why this society is failing.

Part of reviewing a product is also reviewing the company. If a company is being pushy that's a red flag. It's not just my feeling at steak here. People who can't take an extra minutes to process all sides of a story before they go keyboard warrior are a bigger issue if we are being serious about the failings in this country.
