They should add things to do in the plaza, like sitting on the benches or emoting, maybe being able to interact with other players outside of turf war or battles, it’d make the game interesting. Heck add something like the lockers again, maybe apartments that your friends and you can decorate and you can live in the apartment and mess with stuff, also more customization, hairstyles and being able to change tentacles tips and fingertips, like how Frye and Marina have, and I mean tentacle tip changing like how Marina has, also they should add weather cycles, plus day and night cycles, weather like rain would slowly get rid of ink so you constantly need to put it back down, so matches can change very quickly, foggy does the same as it does in salmon run, maybe night matches add secret places and different maps, stuff like that could really change the gameplay

Or just sell my clothes, especially the ones you get early on so you can receive the chunks out of them for selling them off. This way you can start accumulating chunks for much cheaper since you won't have tons of money or chunks yet. The earlier you get started the better. Or trade chunks for other types. Like say you have a lot run speed you never use but need special charge up. You could trade say 20 of them to someone else who's asking for the speed run in particular. Maybe even have a shop where you can get high priced (old amiibo) gear or old weapon skins and ink tanks, via tons of chunks as currency or super sea snails. The prices are heavily reduced during special events like the splatfests and big run. Special weapons could be rented out (in a similar vein to the grizzco weapons) for the modes splatfest usually takes away. These should have twists or be aestetically different to fit the splatfest theming outside the ink. like clam blitz turns into feeding a creature instead of throwing them into a basket. Win enough times yields you a pearl necklace (no ability slots but you can change its color). Tower control can have fire works go off each time it reaches a checkpoint and the tower can either shrink or grow taller depending on who's losing/winning and where it is. Maybe some kind of low or high heel shoes could be a thing if you win enough games. Splatzones should have fun shapes and you can get a light up key chain or hair clips. There would be multiple different ones.

My thoughts: The base game campaign could involve the Salmonids! They will be the main enemy force this time around. After all, it was the fishy fiends who tried to disrupt the Grand Fest by invading that special Grand Bowl stage. These Salmon Runs have been involved since S2, and they got BIG in S3. The sea is calling like a siren, and no one will be able to ignore the screams of the Kings...or even something from much deeper waters.

We learn Big Runs and Big Big Runs were only a dress rehearsal for something even more apocalyptic. Someone or something has to be leading and commanding ALL Salmonids. Who? A human final boss would also be kinda cool. Or heck maybe the story is about humans trying to integrate into squid society? Ive only been playing splatoon for a little over a year at this point bit something that was always in the back of my mind was a dorm room kind of similar to how lockers work! Like image you just start off with one room, a bed, and a bathroom and the wallpaper is a little stained and ripped but as you develop through the gane you can buy a larger room, cooler furniture like bunk beds, or if we wanna go all in on the co-op features you could share a dorm with another friend and decorate together! Seeing how central the great turf war was to that arc, I can’t see them going back to the start of the great turf war. I think it’s more likely that the next game will have some element of the ancient past come into play, but not actually set in the past.

I’m hoping Nintendo will kind of do a breath of the wild style uncovering history type thing for the next splatoon game. Like finding old weapons/blueprints from hundreds of years ago. I also hope we have more of a focus on returning and glorifying old returning stages rather than butchering them like 3 did. TBF I did only join in like the middle of Splatoon 2 so I don't know anything abt Splatoon 1, however, I do think it would be interesting to show something like being able to work with other agents, which could be NPCs or co-op players. They could make side order a bigger thing, since that's Pearl and Marina's story. Odds are, they'll do the same for deep cut. If all of the past celebrities joined callie and Marie as agents, it would be very cool if each celebrity had their own unique boost or skillset to help with the mission, or kettle, or whatever. I'd definitely like to see more of deepcut's backstory, as they seem to be such interesting characters.

What do I think? I think the Multiplayer does take place after Splatoon 3. But however, the Campaign is about the Great Turf War. Your player enters what seems to be a lab, where everyone is there, the Idols, Cuttlefish, even DJ Octavio. The campaign takes place in a simulation of the past. Helping your player learn the history of the Great Turf War, Assassin's Creed style. The reason for this is probably so they can ace a test they are doing in school. lol

Theres two ways I feel we can see splatoon go based off of the final splatfest aka grand fest. First one could be going all the way back to the Great Turf War, it was mentioned way back in Splatoon 1 it would be a great way to end off this almost decade old saga in another way and finally see what actions started that war, second as one person already suggested, we continue the timeline but have the next game be about uncovering the past and possibly secrets of the humans before their extinction, this could also have the same impact as the Great Turf War path but we learn more as to how all of this even started and how the human race not only made itself extinct along with other species but allowed some other species to evolve

Maybe the story could be like Halo Reach's. Focusing on the Great Turf War with your squad of fellow Squids who one by one meet an unfortunate fate till you're the last one remaining to fight against Octavio while you ultimately lose, you unknowingly gave the Squidbeak Splatoon the time they needed to gather their forces for the final Turf War, which you play out as one of their members. The ending can cut back to present day where Cuttlefish along with Callie, Marie, Sheldon, and Octavio are visiting the sight of the final Turf War having finally put their differences beside them following the ending of Splatoon 3. Here is a idea Sheldon invents a time machine and you the player go back in time and then fight in the war on the side you choose. to defeat someone like mr.grizz who went back in time to try to get a better ending like flowey in Undertale and then it leads to Splatoon one so then you go back to the future wrapping everything up.

so here is what I think could happen. What if the game takes place in the current timeline, but a team of archaeologists unearth some sort of human made experiment or army of robots that have been in stasis all this time. Then the Single player could be a new agent having to face this new threat while it invades a new city somewhere far from the places we already know.

my actual list is this: -human involvement in some way -more customization (facial features, PANTS) -custom dorms instead of just lockers where you can have friends over -continuation of tableturf -splat 1 story mode bosses remastered -anarchy splatcast dlc (PLEASE) (we have ALL splat game's normal story mode for callie/marie, deepsea metro AND side order for pearl/marina, so where's deep cut's??) -a new playable species?! (such as sharks/manta rays/pre-mutation salmonids) -origins of npc characters (crusty sean, sheldon, shop owners) (could be included in anarchy splatcast dlc) -ORIGIN OF SPLAT 3 MC AND LIL BUDDY?! no one ever questioned why we just woke up in the middle of a deserted wasteland with a little salmonid companion?! -general story mode is pre gtw (judds arrival too)-> gtf -> rocketship landing (mr.grizz) -> reformation of society but its cahnged (as in, the things we ahve done in the past games have altered the in game past lore through means of time travel (LIKE JUDDS ARRIVAL- MAYBE WE USE THE SAME THING TO GO BACK?!))

Dont forget that splatoon 2 already had the effect of the great turf war, such as Octavio leading the octarians (Sry if I spelled that wrong) To the great zapfish for energy. When the inklings won the war, the Octos were left with nothing, so when they found a underground area, they wanted it to be powered. THAT area could save them. Thats what lead to the disappearance of the Great Zapfish, the one soul thing that was powering the enemy, inkings. I *did* get this from the *VERY* long i donno 2-3 or 4 hour long splatoon 1-3 timeline video, but the effects from the war were impacted to splatoon 2. (My opinion that I will say now has nothing to do with the video :3) Now for splatoon 4? Because past won, I think that splatoon will add something about the war, but its unlikely that it will be the effects of it, because of splatoon 2. So we *do* have a chance to get a playable war part. But that would be *VERY* hard, and having that much of a side part to the game *needs* to affect the actual multiplayer mode itself. But splatoon wouldn't go back from their progess, why would they delete their modes *just* to fit a single player campaign? So really, we cant be sure what splatoon will be, Splatoon 1 had marie win, but it affected *CALLIE* then splatoon 2's win for Chaos changed things for splatoon 3, and the lose for team order got a whole single player mode for itself. SO we *will* know that Splatoon will most likely use the other choices for the future game, like Present & Future. *Thank you for reading this super long thing on what I think, im a yapper, so im sorry for this essay :(*

I really would like for the game to focus on the events of the Great Turf War, along with the connections between Craig and Octavio. And as much as I know this may never happen, I would like for the story of Craig and Octavio to be handled almost like the fan comic: Dissonant Melody

The story should take place in the Calamari County before the Great Turf having the game show what happened before the Great Turf War. The Idol group is called Battle of the Bands and it is two idol groups fighting in each Splatfest so in total, there are four idols. One group would represent the Inklings, and the other would represent the Octolings. The New Squidbeak Splatoon saga is over, this one would how the Squidbeak Splatoon was formed. I have an idea for the story mode if anyone wants to hear it.

I really think the campaign is going to be the great turf war and the grizzco equivalent would be the turf war, the stages you play on in that, after "winning" that turf would be added to the multiplayer, would also decrease the number of weapons significantly.

If team past could mean more development and leaning more about Inkling and Octarian relations before their war I’d be really excited for that. Could have an octarian or multiple octarian NPC’s living on the surface even. Big Man in his concept art was originally considered to even be an octarian. I mean I’m happy they changed their minds there, I love the Big Man we got. Maybe they thought they’d better wait one more game before completely mending the gap and letting octarians live on the surface again. I’d also like the know more about the war and the first Squidbeak Splatoon before the new one

If present won I’m sure Nintendo would have found a way to make it interesting, like with chaos. Chaos ended up being a celebration of all types of cultures, and the closing to the story with octarians, the origins of inkfish, and how humans ‘ hopes and art moved onto the next species.
