I understand everything, but she speaks with an accent that is noticeable but not extremely strong, but you can tell the language doesn't come naturally to her as she speaks very slowly. It just depends how much youre parents valued teaching you the language. I'm now 18, a bulgarian but grew up in the uk practically since I was born and people can't tell I grew up abroad, but that's because my parents made me write and read alot of bulgarian books

I only just started watching Vampire Diaries and when I saw the scene with Katerina giving birth and her speaking Bulgarian, I initially thought Nina had to learn it for the show or something but I googled her (I knew who she was already just not her background,I only ever saw her in American Mall when I was little on Nickelodeon lol) and found out she's actually Bulgarian, I wanted to hear her speak it more. She's so beautiful and her accent is so beautiful
