Nina ist Deutschland's national treasure. Schön das es sie gibt.

I was fortunate to have spent a morning backstage with Nina. She is really a wonderful down-to-earth woman and mother off-stage.

People laugh, but it didn't feel like cruel laughter, they were amused at the way she was telling the story - very sweetly, innocent, a little shy, but she said bold things. When I am really down, very sad, and nothing can pull me out of it, I listen to Nina's music, and soon I am happy, I am playful, I am at peace, and that smile, that good feeling remains with me... until the next time, which isn't very often. Nina has a beautiful soul, like a child who just wants to love and to be kind, and to create music and enjoy her life, family, career, and her times of spiritual meditation and reflection. Jesus said we must become like little children. Some people are always youthful inside, always curious, always trying to be good, and always happy (so it may seem), and that kind of love, that kind of innocence, and that ability to have a joyful heart, is, I believe, what He means. Nina isn't stupid, she is brilliant, and exceptionally talented, and whatever you may think of her from interviews or your perception of her music, or your inability to see that everyone struggles and has ups and downs, Nina always pulls through and her soul is still open and loving and kind. That's pretty near being magical. Nina has love in her heart, for anyone and everyone. But, don't hurt her, don't be unkind - she wouldn't let someone hurt you or be unkind to you. She is closer to having what "agape" love is than most people. If more people were like Nina, there would be more joy in the world, more peace, more kindness. Nina Hagen is one of those people who found their way into my soul because of her effect on me. There are a few others, like Ofra Haza, and someone I got to work with and remain friends with for many years - Donna Summer. All of these women are kind, loving, and they dislike gossip, and they won't speak badly of anyone. They have similar hearts, though they are very different and have differing beliefs (Nina is the only one still alive on this Earth). Yes, I have met Nina Hagen -- briefly, at a club in LA. She was very sweet, unassuming, not seeking attention. She held out her hand and I held out mine, and she shook my hand and said, "It is very nice to meet you, Scott". I told her that I love her music, I love her, and LOVE seeing her in concert. lol

Yes, the audience is laughing because it is quite evident that Nina is simply entertaining in pretty much all she says or does and has a way of delivering a lot of her story and message with an implied wink and blank innocence that come naturally to her no matter if she intends it to or not. It just kind of happens that way so she often ends up getting perceived as inherently funny. Which, by the way, she is fully aware of and uses it to send out and spread whatever she thinks that needs to be said more easily.

didn't read all of your comment, just the first quarter - for that: same here. She does positive things, probably doing good things is her actual belief, and her music is decent and it wants you to make things good even on the worst day - fully agree with that!
