Hot take: I actually really love Nina’s concept. An obsessed copycat killer who does everything she does just because she idolizes the wrong person. I understand why people don’t care for her, and I get why the creator doesn’t like to talk about her, but she’ll always have a special place in my heart. Clearly she also holds a special place in the fandom’s heart now that we’re all a bit older and more mature, because I’ve come across some incredible takes on her in fanfiction before. I feel the same, Nina's character has so much hidden potential and while the story isn't great both plot and grammar wise, the concept of an obsessed fangirl who idolizes violence is actually a lot more common than most people would believe. And while we should not glorify this type of behavior, we can sort of understand where Nina is coming from. She's come from a similar background, with similar experiences and hardships as Jeff so in her mind, she thought it would be a perfect opportunity to praise and worship someone who clearly cannot provide her with the guidance and warmth she needs.

sa ns But that's not true. Creepypasta comes from the term copy paste, and refers to internet urban legends that are 'copy pasted' everywhere. Things like Candle Cove and Psychosis are really amazing creepypastas, in my opinion, and are excellent examples of what creepypasta is. Killer stories such as Nina, Jeff, Ticci Toby and all the poster characters are more about people's OCs and their backstory, but I don't think I want to feel sympathy for a ruthless murderer. You should definitely read Psychosis and Candle Cove, by the way.

Ticci Toby, abused by his dad, Jeff the Killer, bullied, brother was taken away and no one got him the help he needed, Clockwork abused by dad and the mom did nothing, Sally, killed and raped. These stories bring how bad our world has become to light. Even if the creators don't realize it, they do. So maybe stop focusing on that part so much, and start focusing on how the main character is treated and what happens to them.
