Delightful, wasn't it? ❤❤❤ What's more impressive is that this video was taken from a 3-hour long KZbin LIVE stream, which they used to do at least twice a week. When the pandemic hit, the Philippines, like most places, went into serious lockdown. Concerts were canceled and all forms of LIVE performance gigs were prohibited. Using KZbin and similar music streaming platforms, Gigi De Lana and The Gigi Vibes Band were able to entertain and provide "feel good" vibes to many. Their music helped lift spirits up and even healed broken hearts. Their LIVE streams struck a chord with many Filipinos locally and abroad. her actual vocal abilities are rather underrated, at times, because most people are under the notion that shouting and lots of vocal runs equals a great voice. She is low-key in her approach, instead. But, her range is ridiculous. The way she goes from really low to really high within one song, like in Through the Fire and Better days, is not easy yet she does it so effortlessly. It's a rare quality. 😍🔥❣️

In frank senatra's version, i imagine sitting in a jazz bar with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other, tie losen up, de-stressing. In gigi's version, i felt like i went on an emotional journey, a story told in few minutes, took me up and down and around the moon and back. It touched the soul deeply

Nina, it‘s so refreshing that you appreciate what‘s going on with the band and the arrangement musically. The piano guy killed it and Gigi is just so talented! She has such a musical talent and feeling for timing and phraseology, she is a class of her own! And yes: the scat section was clearly Gigi‘s turn to do her improvisation over the chorus, just like the piano and the guitar did before.

Although I'm not crazy about all her songs, she has covered a diverse variety of musical styles and she excels at some of these older, jazzier songs. I highly recommend the recent versions of Better Days, L-O-V-E, Fly Me to the Moon, Officially Missing You, Through the Fire. All spectacular!
