Nine Black Alps were amazing: they were playing grungey indie rock when grungey indie rock was not in fashion (it's the mid-00's, when everyone' trying to sound like late 70s/early 80s post-punk). Yet, in that era they had their own, unforgettable sound! I'm a fan and always will be

I loved that sound. Even though I liked The Vines even better, this band holds a special place in my heart. And I have a lot of respect for Mr. Forrest to not have sold himself out.

I saw them live twice in 2005 and they were 2 of the best gigs I've ever been too...and I've been to hundreds. That debut lp is one of the greatest debut records of all time.

Always baffled me why they weren't a much bigger deal. I guess people just thought 'grunge' and thought...that's yesterday...I'm not interested rather than actually listen to how brilliant they really were. Kinda sad.
