Rubbish defending. So clear from body language no 82 doesn't want to defend, half hearted attempt to block and when the player just skips past, no urgency (literally at walking pace) to track to try and chase to put pressure allowing the cross to go in for the first goal. To be fair, the marking in the penalty box was non existent too. Also partly at fault for the 2nd goal, it was either 82 or 47 to track the run of no8, as its a simple 1-2 and no8 was through on goal to score no.2

The EFL cup is the Carabao Cup, which is similar to, but with fewer clubs, the FA Cup. What I don't know is why Man U played their U-21 team. Apparently, they've done it before, and it's not too out of the ordinary. Maybe there was a scheduling issue because of the big club playing too many games this week. But I'm guessing, and I can't find an explanation that's been dumbed down enough for me to understand it 😂

The EFL Trophy (formerly known as the Johnstone Paints Trophy, the Papa John's Trophy etc.) is a tournament with I believe a group format consisting of ONLY teams from league 2, league 1, and youth teams of Premier League and Championship sides. They play in tiny 3-tean groups with singular round robin format and then I think 1st in the group goes through? It's the smallest cup silverware in the EFL so it's rather rare that the U21 Premier League teams do very well considering the Premier League 2 is more worth their time.
