If you listen to the watch the stereo version of music video from The Downward Spiral dual disc, you can hear some of the buried elements similar to this. It's interesting to hear more of it in this, however.

Also check out the surround sound music DVD that came out. it's half way a multitrack and there's some really cool hidden effects and parts you would have never heard before. There's an entire drum part at the end that just sounds so amazing.

Well thanks for sharing! Interesting to listen to! Any idea how it got released in 2012?
@DTF4Cottoncandy9 жыл бұрын
+jeepee2 yeah I do know how. It was released when NIN fans pressured Danny Hyde of Coil to release his NIN remix demos when a fan noticed via a youtube video a box labeled NIN in the background during an interview at his home studio. Danny Hyde released the demos/remixs are Recoiled and then later he leaked a few others he found and fans made the compilations uncoiled and uncoiled extended. The reason the second and third compilations are so hard to come by are that fans decided to share the albums via megaupload and other torrent sites that ether went under or the torrent expired. Apparently no one had the common decency to share them on youtube .

Matthew Dunphy First off, thank you for providing some info which I'll update the info of the video with, I am sure you realized sometime after writing your comment that misinformation is more common than the "truth" esp on the internet. I also hope you realize that I collect and post a lot of rare tracks from more than just NIN and don't always have time (or a place to start) to look for sources and it's hard enough just finding some of the songs since most collectors do NOT share. Anyway, I will update the video and change the title to (Uncoiled B side), however I'm going to do two things on top of that. First, while I think you for much more believable information that what I first found...I'm going to remove your comment as I feel it was a little abrasive but secondly I would like to ask that if you know of a list of the people who like yourself contributed to making both coiled and uncoiled happen then please share so I can add it to the description. Also, if you're a fan of the Purest Feeling stuff I have some audio from one of the very first shows where Maybe Just Once is played.

+Mortal Kombat Bios If you don't mind, and I realize this is kind of a silly request, but please credit me as "Leviathant" in the write-up, rather than the name I had to associate with KZbin. Your video description doesn't really make it clear that you're quoting me - it reads as though you were corresponding with Danny yourself. You can find plenty of information at www.nin.wiki/Recoiled and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recoiled I've been using the internet since 1995. As to my reply being abrasive, I'm sorry you thought that. I don't feel it was abrasive. I was asserting the origins of this track, replying to "Apparently no one had the common decency to share this", and pointing you to some other rare stuff. I'd love to hear this Maybe Just Once performance you mentioned. I've heard a few over the years, I wonder which this is from. If you're interested in other NIN rarities, check out my KZbin channel. One of the most unusual ones I was able to hunt down was a 30 second clip Trent did for MTV Japan in the early 90s. I ended up having to buy a Laserdisc boxed set from Japan, and then a Laserdisc player, in order to get the audio and video. Thanks - have a good one.

Matthew Dunphy Awesome, I don't mind referring to you as Leviathant in the description, After all "shemhamforash". Okay, I'll checkout what rare stuff you're talking about (I think it's been named by the community as "Top of The Hour" for MTV Japan but I'll see). The maybe just once live track is from Show Up or Throw up, a cd which I don't have so I don't know if Down In It was cutoff on the original cd recording, so please do share if you have the actual cd. Thanks too, have a good one too.

@DaeOh9 жыл бұрын
why would he need a demo?
@DTF4Cottoncandy9 жыл бұрын
+DaeOh Most bands if not all make demos. Trent even released the demo versions of Ruiner, Hersey and Reptile officially via the deluxe edition of the Downward Spiral. I have to say though, it's kinda no wonder he didn't intentionally release this one. It's great but very raw and more of just the overall concept of the song without the iconic double drums and piano parts.
@aldude9996 жыл бұрын
I don't think they're really demos. They're more like early versions. Music usually starts with a concept and moves on from there. This would be before any major production, just him messing around with an idea.
