I don’t understand why Trent Reznor hates ‘Perfect Drug.’ It must be because he hates the music-video, cuz the music-video is a little corny, but the song is awesome
@MrBuckTravis11 ай бұрын
He hates it because he can't replicate it live without playing to loops. And playing to loops is for less dignified songwriters.
@jereminas698211 ай бұрын
He did it live not so long ago, also they released official music-video in good quality. I believe he knows its a banger. Maybe the drug part is not so pleasant for him to sing about 🤷🏼♂️

IIRC he said the main things he didn't like about it were that it he felt it was rushed/made too quickly, it's the song of his that used/showed the most outside influence (he was listening to a lotta DnB and jungle at the time), and that the music video was too much. I don't think he ever said that he thinks it's a bad song, I'm guessing he's just a bit insecure about it because he didn't get to flex his perfectionism on it at the time like all his other work.

Which part? Because they also use synths 😂
@Strangedisciple Жыл бұрын
If you want "crunch" maybe even a complex fuzz, I'd use the Elektron Analog Distortion pedal. But if it's that kind of "synthetic" heavy saturated sound, a DigiTech dirty robot & a good feedback generator like Hors d'Oeurve by Fairfield circuitry taken into a mixer, tweak till you got the desired effect & 💥BAM💥 p.s. NIN has previously used pedals/devices by Waldorf, Moog & Metasonix (pedal company). 😊
