“Head Like A Hole” Lyrics
God money I'll do anything for you.
God money just tell me what you want me to
God money nail me up against the wall.
God money don't want everything he wants it all.
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
God money's not looking for the cure.
God money's not concerned with the sick among the pure.
God money let's go dancing on the backs of the bruised.
God money's not one to choose
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.

I'm 56, and this is why I LOVE 90's rock. The genre turned self-loathing and depression on its head, acknowledged darkness in thought in all its sadness/horror, and then spit it out with sarcasm, wit, and defiance. And yes, there is hope in the music too. That is the essence of 90's grunge. I LOVE this song. Listen to lyrics babies:)

Oiii uhhh buddy... NIN is industrial metal/rock - not grunge at all. However, both genres feature either happy, sad, angry, depressed, morose, horny, edgy, furious, desperate, ecstatic, or sometimes even downright INSANE lyrics! 🤘🤘🤘

I listened to my folks music and I want my kids to see who my favorite rock bands were and the messages they spoke through their songs. It shows what they believed in. actually it was perfectly IN it time. Trent just .. erm... poppified it, made is palatable to a wider audience (which seems like a weird thing to say, given it's a band like NiN.) If you're a newcomer to NIN I'd recommend 2013's "Hesitation Marks" as the easiest album to get into starting fresh, it is very modern sounding and fits in the best with current electronic/ rock genres; or if you like the 80s style of this song then the entire "Pretty Hate Machine" album is a great start too. All albums are good though, each have a different sound/vibe in them and have a lot of depth. Try out each one if you want. Edit: I will say "Broken" is my all time favorite, and "The Downward Spiral" at least needs a mention if you know you will like the harder sounding music like some people are saying with the comments. Also "The Fragile" has aged very well and fits in with the electonic/rock genres like I mentioned above, sorry for long edit, there are just so many good albums for different reasons, enjoy!

1989 ladies and gentlemen. This is when this came out, anyone recall how different this sounded to anything else out there? I was completely blown away when I saw the video on "Headbangers Ball" on MTV for the first time. I think 1990. The video was like from another planet. The trash on the drums, the Maxheadroom Skull rotating. The tape all over the guitars, the cables all over the floor. The entire look took 'industrial' over the top. The sidecut hair of Finck and Reznor. In 1989. Hollywood celebs started sporting sidecuts in 2009, about 20 years later.

This song is pretty much the anthem to Industrial music because it literally infuses every element of it. It's got the jack hammer beat, the harsh guitars, the crazy synths, the angsty lyrics, the poppy sound... everything.

Is the logic based on the fact that Americans become massively stupid and blow their money on shit they don't need and run themselves in debt all in the name of Jesus? lol Or are you just sayin? lol

Billy Westerband exactly! Everyone is all excited it was covered, but the episode was like a Disney channel movie with F bombs. The second half was so cringey! Especially that scene with the mouse infestation inspection. So awful! I would be pissed if I were Trent Reznor
