This track basically inspired me to write and record my own music... even now in 2010 it still envokes the same emotion and wonder i had all those years ago. Truly powerful.

I'm sure that you've also heard "The Persistence of Loss" too? It's a deceptively "simple" piece of rather haunting sophistication that tends to creep up on the listener before they realize it's power is already upon them...☝️🧐🤏

I dont even really know what to say about this. Its absolutely brilliant, such a sad tune but its good to feel anything at all.Not many other artists make me feel so many emotions as NIN does. I cant imagine life with out NiN's music.Or i guess i could but wouldnt want to.

I always look at the song title as -I'm leaving some hope to count on. I don't look at it as-I'm leaving hope behind. Who knows. That is one of the special aspects of TR's music, and other music obviously. You can apply it to your special situation.

Such a brilliant song. It gives me the same feelings that I get when I listen to the equally amazing song "Springtime Depression" by Forgotten Tomb. Pure, depressive beauty

They put this song at the end of the HBO Documentary about Jimmy Ivine and Dr Dre, and it fit so perfectly. The Defiant Ones episode 2. It was in the outro as Snoop was talking about Pac being killed and Death Row being in shambles, and Dre starting over. I ended up having to find this song.

This is how I found about it too. Small correction, it's at the end of the 3rd episode.

I completely understand what you mean. It's like you're left with this feeling of some kind of regret and you just wish you could make it better and make that change.

This song reminds me of the human race experiencing a phase of self destruction. One man survives the aftermath. He leaves the memories of civilization behind his past, and leaves this world for good to continue life onto another. That's what I get out of the song at least.
