His lyrics are so intelligent - so aware of the varieties and vagaries of human suffering (with some joy, too). I feel I’m presently living in a non-joyous set of NON songs the snippets of tne lyrics popping unbidden into my conscious brain … such a balm for my own pain. HE has said (as I imagine you know full well): “music saved my life.”

@Mephiston
@Mephiston 3 жыл бұрын
It was written as a lead in for live shows, after the album. Much like pinion did for wish during the broken era. It only exists as a live song, and from live recordings. It was indicative of the turning point of a lot of self loathing and anger that came through in broken and extended to the downward spiral.

NIN are immense. In a GaryNuman interview he says, with a laugh..."Trent was asked to write a soundtrack for a film. And wins an Oscar!". The guy is on a higher level than anyone I've got into and I am a top musician who picks the music apart. I still say Jerome Dillon is THE NIN drummer. Freese was spot on machine drummer (which oddly didn't suit NIN so well), Ilan Rubin is a fantastic drummer (ambidextrous he told me when I asked because his style is strange) and so I learned how to drum left and right handed and owe him a debt of gratitude for this...it really opens the kit up. But Jerome Dillon is the ’art' that live NIN works best with. I'm a guitarist and synth bod...mainly because of NIN in 1989 at the Astoria in London.

I was at this show, maybe six or seven rows back from where I think this was being filmed with a buddy of mine who died a few years ago. This brought back memories of an amazing concert, drinking beer and singing along with Trent that night. Something I hadn't thought about in a long time. Thanks for recording this.

WHAT IF YOU Where The MIC GUY, And As Soon AS TRENT Grabbed The New Mic And STARED To Sing.... No Sound Came OUT! lol What WOULD YOU DO? 2:24
@rist98
@rist98 10 жыл бұрын
That can't really happen. Mics get checked before use. Engineers have pretty good capabilities for communication. And there are at least 2 mixing engineers that can actually identify a bad wire before that mic gets up on stage. If for example the wire came out, trent could bash it back on if he wanted to, he knows that shit fairly well. But the engineer could climb up on stage to do it, or bash that other mic up again instead as well. But ye, that just does not happen, unless the engineers all are incompetent. And incompetent people do not get such jobs.

i reckon this was filmed by a girl, robin strangles a crazy solo out of his guitar and the camera never leaves Trent once. I used to play i a band with a good looking singer, a female fan used to video our songs and post them online, not once did her gaze leave the lead singer or his ass etc she pretty much metoo'd him in a videography manner, kek.

This caption is wrong. The Waving Goodbye tour, US leg never played Kansas City, Missouri. It was LA, Chicago and New York.

At soundwave festival, fucked on lsd.."the day the world went away" was the most beautifull sombre and shockingly surreal moment of time lapse. And I put 3 drops in a girls eye ( virgin )

Nine Inch Nails playing in broad daylight should be illegal. I once saw Manson play in the daylight and it made me sad. You cant have bad juju on a bright sunny day, people. Make rock and roll dangerous again.

really? you think is better than the early versions? Reznor has a ton of energy here and he's a great performer, but it's the pure rage that comes through in the early versions that makes me consider them superior to this.

It took me a while to notice that on this tour they sometimes color coordinated everyone's outfits for that night. They're all appearing to wear beige/white. The same tour in New Jersey that they shot some pro footage from the stage they're all wearing red/black.
