A song released in 89, being played in 01, being listened to in 24... And it's still just as amazing as it was 35 years ago.

Well, it IS the guy who "filmed, directed, and edited" the video after all. :D ...and who made a lot of nin's art for a large portion of the project's existence. @@triplebarreldarrel

*I have always been boggled by the uniqueness of Trent. Sometimes he is goth, sometimes electronic metal, sometimes hard rock. But everything he does is his very own invention of music. It conforms to no other format or cliche.* *I think Trent should have his own genre. Reznor music. When he aided Marilyn Manson and inspired Stabbing Westward among so many more bands, you can hear his influence.*

This room and its guests look like they came out of a painting by Johannes Vermeer. Thank you Rob, you’ve made an audiovisual masterpiece. "Something I Can Never Have" I still recall the taste of your tears Echoing your voice just like the ringing in my ears My favorite dreams of you still wash ashore Scraping through my head 'til I don't want to sleep anymore You make this all go away You make this all go away I'm down to just one thing And I'm starting to scare myself You make this all go away You make this all go away I just want something I just want something I can never have You always were the one to show me how Back then I couldn't do the things that I can do now This thing is slowly taking me apart Grey would be the color if I had a heart Come on, tell me! You make this all go away You make this all go away I'm down to just one thing And I'm starting to scare myself You make this all go away You make this all go away I just want something I just want something I can never have In this place it seems like such a shame Though it all looks different now, I know it's still the same Everywhere I look you're all I see Just a fading fucking reminder of who I used to be Come on, tell me! You make this all go away You make this all go away I'm down to just one thing And I'm starting to scare myself You make this all go away You make it all go away I just want something I just want something I can never have I just want something I can never have

Still is probably the NIN album I listen to the most in the end so please, publish more videos from these sessions. SICNH is actually one of my least favourite songs by NIN (IMHO surpassed by Hurt, RWIB or Zero Sum) but seeing Trent Reznor perform it with so much intensity makes it just impossible to dislike.

Thanks for this footage! Although I’ve seen a full HD aspect ratio 16:9 (at least) before, but can’t find that one back for now… maybe because I’m already satisfied with this old fashioned 4:3 one, made for old tv’s that could still implode in worse case scenario. But that’s beside the point: because terrific image though, and great sound. Even though I’ll will look for it on e.g. TIDAL for hifi FLAC audio versions, again, because KZbin refuses to implement audiophile quality, still… 😢🙄😒

Can anyone identify the stick microphone used by Reznor? The lavender color makes me think 2000s Sony, but I'm not finding anything.
@moliver_xxii9 ай бұрын
you mean the vocal microphone? probably a Shure Beta 58A. the audio here is a live recording, this mic is a relevant model since it's optimal at rejecting the sound that comes from the sides with a lot of attenuation of the back... ideal for recording a vocalist playing the piano like here.
