A friend of ours was widowed some years ago. Pat's late husband provided well for her to live comfortably. She went online and met a 'romance guy" who was some scammer. Pat ended up losing the kid's money set aside for college, lost the house, and pretty much everything else. She still thinks this is a legit person, after four years of playing her along - and defrauding her.. Her family tried to stage an intervention but she told them off, and now they will have nothing to do with her. When I heard Jane's story - she was 56 and he was 28. I could sort of understand if she was a Jane Seymour or Joan Collins type, as they are beautiful and sexy women, in fantastic shape. Men are visual, and looks are what initially attracts, and then if the man is decent, it is personality and character. I think the 28-year-old man was attracted to her wallet and immigration status. If you cannot get a man like that here in the UK, then you have to ask yourself why, and face reality. Not just older women. I met a guy who was in the states for vacay from Jamaica. I was 32, he was 27/28. Something like that. Not to off but still a bit younger. We chatted while he was here. No biggie, right. We exchanged facebooks and when he went back we messaged back and forth for like a month or so. All of a sudden he “ was in love with me”, and I just laughed a lot at that I remember. Of course he tried to make it sound like there was no other person like me and some connection we had blah blah blah. Then start asking about me to come visit. He wanted to come visit and eventually move here but couldn’t it . That he was a musician there and wanted to me come see him perform. I remember once he said something about how I felt about having a man that I could teach and love and something like raise him up etc I told him those were called sons. 🤣 and I had no intentions of doing that with a man. Fast forward a week or so more and then the I would love to hear your voice messages came and he didn’t have a phone but if I could purchase him an IPhone here in The states and send it to him there because it would be cheaper here. I straight told him that what he was trying wasn’t going to work on me and of course he said I had it all wrong. We stopped communicating . Fast forward a few years and I saw him on Facebook with his new wife( she was a number of years older it seemed, with a baby boy and living in the states. He got what he wanted. Eventually leaving her and moving to another state.
