I feel like it’s pointless to rev/throttle before downshifting if you’re anyway going to feather off your clutch. If you’re trying to rev match, you must clutch in, throttle quick and downshift, then let the clutch go (don’t feather it). Trust me, your downshifts will be much smoother, quicker and safer (in case of an emergency stop)

I have a motorcycle but I'm NOT good at doing this type of thing. I never feel like I will fit between and never try unless the cars are completely still. Maybe it's also because the roads in my country are much tighter... But yeah, it's a HUGE time saver when you're in this situation.

I started driving in a village without much traffic and i was about to move back to a big city with tons of traffic and tons of bad drivers. In the beginning i was also afraid but once you start going its not the bad. Go at your own pace. And my advice is, try not to go more than 20km/h more than the cars. If your speed difference is small you have time to react and they have time to see you

@lon.athina6903 yeah, I don't want to go too much faster, which is why if the cars are going fast enough I won't bother at all.

Noice! Have you ever had any encounters with cops? Are they mostly permissive where you are for lane-filtering?

i’ve talked to a bunch of cops in my area and they pretty much all agree that it don’t affect anyone and just don’t blow through the line and or rev unnecessarily
