I've had my Ninja Foodi for 6 years now and from the word go, other owners all warned about the pressure cooking function being poor when it came to reaching a proper heat. The way around it is to heat the pot on another function before setting out to pressure cook. I wasn't sure if that would still be needed on the new Foodi that you have. You mentioned the non-stick pot and that's one thing I love about the Foodi. When they say non-stick, they ain't lying & absolutely nowt has ever stuck to mine. Your chicken looked nice and soft......yum. Cheers
@LindzandLife8 ай бұрын
Hi Mark 💜 thank you for the tip I found with my other multi cooker it's best to heat them up a bit or use boiling water. The non stick bowl is amazing so far x

Thats why i like my cosori the release button is separate from the main vent. Just think its a great saftey feature. Looks good anyway. Nice one .🥰👍

Hi Tony 👋 That does sound like a brilliant feature and much safer x
@nicolasmith14608 ай бұрын
Yup me too. Another vote for the cosori. Very affordable and brilliant. Partic if you already have an air fryer. The cosori is same as Foodi minus the air fryer functions. So I steam a whole chicken in my cosori and then brown it in my air fryer. Takes under half the time of oven cooking and the best chicken in the world! Looking forward to your vids Lindz. There’s always space for another machine!!

A very honest and practical review. So liking the fact that you can caramalise the onions and seal the chicken without the need to use a hob. Just keep the lid open on some heat setting. As Mazza240 suggests, cover your hob and place the Ninja under the cooker hood to get rid of the steam at the end of pressure cooking. But here's the thing. I am redesigning my kitchen and for the past 1 year and 25 weeks have not used any gas to cook with. These devices such as the Ninja are rewriting what a kitchen will be and how you lay it out. So why bother with an all in one oven (Hob, Oven, Grill) when you can buy a combination microwave to do the same. Or two. Install a Ninja, or two. And to accommodate the high humidity install two extractor hoods. You wouldn't think twice in a laboratory of having two fume cupboards if you needed them. And steam! Well that's physics. At nearly 100 degrees Celsius the steam will scald you instantly. And a full size oven is only really necessary if your cooking an 18lb turkey or a spit roast pig. Devices like these Ninja or combination ovens can also be pretty heavy, so finding a permanent place for them is useful rather than mauling them around and placing them under a cooker hood. As for the time it takes to reach pressure, that's physics too. That's offset by the space saving of the device. Didn't like the amount of water under the lid and would have concerns cleaning it after every meal. Keep up the good work in your reviews. They are a pleasure to watch.

Hi Lindz, Funnily enough, I made chicken stew today in my slow cooker. We prefer it in that, if we do it in the IP it just has too much water. Of course, I can fix that. It was interesting to see how the 11in 1 functions, I am waiting on the 15 in 1. Incidentally, I saw that these this version is only £150 today. Which is a bargain for anyone interested. Thanks for the video, have fun with it. x

That looks yummy Lindz, nice one. 😊 I agree the multi pot takes a while to get up to pressure. I usually do stuff in the pot 1st to get it hot, also any liquid I add straightaway from a freshly boiled kettle, still takes a while to build up but not quite so long as when added cold. Usually I just get myself a brew and watch KZbin videos while I wait 😄

You've reminded me of the thing I never understood about pressure cookers back in the 80s - yes they cooked quickly, but when you added the time they took to get up to pressure, they weren't always quicker. BUT, I like the look of what you made today, and I doubt that would have been done quicker the conventional way. All we ever seemed to do was potatoes (no shock seeing as I'm part Irish lol)! Another great video!

A steam diverter is not recommended to use on this model. I had one for the DoubleLid PC and it worked beautifully. The difference being the construction differences between the DoubleLid and SingleLid vent knobs. The water build up is normal. This model drains more into the reservoir cup than the older models; thus, the cup needing emptying more often. The time to come to pressure, I have found, is dependent on the amount of liquid. Another Tip: The vent knob can remain in the valley area when using Steam, Steam/Crisp, Steam/Bake methods. It does not have to be in Vent position. The way the slider on this model moves creates three different open areas in the lid depending on where slider is positioned. All the way to the right, it is fully opened. In the middle, it is partially opened. All the way to the left, it is totally sealed off.

Hi Dot 💜 Thank you so so much for your comments I'm learning so much from you 💗 So far I'm loving the pressure cooking but I'm disappointed at the loudness of the air fryer function I wish I'd researched that a little more x
@dothill12588 ай бұрын
Yeah, it’s pretty loud on AF. Honestly, I use my Dual when AF. It is usually just myself and daughter. Sometimes there are 4-5 of us. Now, if I’m AF breaded porkchops, breaded cube steaks, AF coated chicken, I will use my Ninja Double FlexDoor Oven. I’m strongly looking at the Cosori Ceramic 13n1 Oven 26qt. It’s those hidden heating elements and the bottom Burner that pulls me in. I also have the Ninja Combi. I like it; however, there is a stronger learning curve with it, imo. Once learned, though, it is awesome. Lastly, THANK YOU for being the #1 go-to YTer, imo, for Ninja Dual AF content. I have recommended you to everyone wanting more info on the Dual.
@LindzandLife8 ай бұрын
@dothill1258 Thank you for recommending me that means so much 💜 I'm so happy to have you here and your comments aren't only helping me but so many others 💜That cosori air fryer is called the dual blaze here and I agree it does look good. I have a 4.7l cosori just over a year, but unfortunately, the heating element is on its way out. As I use a single draw air fryer a lot as its a bigger draw rather than having to use the 2 draws on the dual , I was thinking maybe the multi cooker could work as a daily but not after hearing it. So I'll be getting the new ninja max Pro 6.2l. I've given up wasting money on lesser known brands as they don't seem to last but I suppose nothing is built to last any more x

@@LindzandLife I became a Ninja addict in Feb 2021. If I told you how many I’ve purchased for self and gifts to others…well…I’m far too mortified to do so. I’m not rich by any means. I’m in a rather home-bound situation as primary caregiver of my 33 y/o handicapped daughter. Cooking has become a hobby; enjoyable one at that. I have also shared this love with my granddaughter. She is excellent at seasoning. The only non-Ninja I have is the Dreo ChefMaker (highly recommend). The Cosori ceramic oven, mentioned earlier, is new on the market. It has caught my eye and invaded my brain cells. 🤔😳😊It just may become my 2nd non-Ninja.
