This demo was great. Got the game eventually and learned you have to kill everyone in the game to finish it. Whew. The Unholy War demo was great too. Got the full game and didn't enjoy it as much.

My childhood game. Used to play this when I was 10 years old with my best friend in his house. After a couple of weeks we beat it and boy did that feel good! Such an achievement lol. But yeah, games back in the days used to be way harder than most stuff now.

My first version of this game was Beta or something, where you could choose any level in the menu and mountain level wouldn't work at all, also some loading screens were different. I Still have that disc somewhere :)

Well I have original disc, I bought it on ebay, that is the one I played so not sure where can you get it, maybe try changing the emulator, maybe thats where the problem is not the game :) hope that helps

Hello, I recently got this game again and also got a memory card for the PS1 but I can’t find out how the hell to save this game? Are you even able to save it? I was assuming the floating fans you come across are checkpoints but do they act as save points too?

You can save at the end of the levels while in the shop. You cannot save while going through the level, floating fans are just checkpoints

For me it was the biggest mistake to buy this game back then. The difficulty and controls were pure hell. In addition, you could not adjust the camera. I remember returning the game to the store after only four hours and being lucky to get my money back.

One thing I don't like about this game is how barely the combos are needed. I mean, you can get the most powerful weapon in the game in the shop right at the end of freaking level 1 if you have enough gold. From that point on, unless you keep using your kicks for some variety in gameplay, you can oneshot most of your enemies with one single swing of the sword. I'm not saying the game gets much easier that way though; it still is super hard. But damn, if you're gonna have combos in your game, at least give players the chance to use them. The only times combos are actually fully fleshed out are on level 1 (when unarmed) and in the final 2-3 levels with the powerful sword. It's pretty ridiculous to watch supposedly powerful and dangerous foes such as the ninja or samurai get spawnkilled as soon as they exit the door
