I dont know why you are talking because I have played in many competitive matches in rocket league which was pretty much the staple of competitive esports once upon a time and still is and I know that a competitive scene requires to play against players to test their abilities. The format of this tournament was very controversial and hated by many if you watched the finals match you would know. A 10,000$ prize pool does not automatically make it a competitive tourney. Keep in mind, the main objective in this tournament was to get kills, and these were in random lobbies, even playing against mobile players and even console players. So as a matter of fact, I do know what I am talking about

Pressure was on for all players so it wasn’t a regular game for the participants. I’m aware that they faced players who doesn’t even come close to skilled, but take solo showdown, as an example; it’s a competitive mode in fortnite just like this tournament was a competitive tournament. That’s why ninja was pulling over 2x his normal numbers and other streamers participating was also gaining crazy numbers.
