@@vdreezus ikr? I main Rambo and he has so many whiffing issues. On top of stubby attacks, slow mids, and pretty low damage. But then you get characters like Kabal. A safe 9f mid, literally safe on all strings, can heal himself, restands, has the best whiff punishes in the game, one of the best FBs, capable zoning, range, great pokes, does insane damage, a very usable armor break. Then there's Shao Kahn who can't even punish like the entire rest of the cast

Inj2 he wasn't tier whoring, or else he would have dropped aquaman, mk11 he played cetrion from the beginning. Even before she was considered good, he played her from the beginning so im not even gonna count that. Tier whoring means you only play top tiers, if said top tier gets nerfed they would just switch to another top tier. Dragon plays his characters to it's fullest potential and has the best understanding when it comes to it. Cetrion also has the biggest skill gap so there's that to

In IJ2 he didn't completely drop Aquaman but he used Black adam MUCH MORE after aquaman got nerfed. Search Dragon IJ2 top 8 and you'll see a lot of black adam. Ehhhh that's debatable, Cetrion was in the same spot as Liu in the beginning of the game. Everyone thought they were pretty average with some good tools but nobody was downplaying either of those characters. Not to mention Dragon has a Fujin now. So MK11 yeah maybe not tier whoring as much but that's what he was known for the most a couple years back I think. Again I'm not knocking his skill down at all, he's a great player.

This is why I don’t think tournaments always weed out who the best player is. Here, Ninja won the FT2, dragon won the FT3 and FT5, and ninja won the FT10. A set type to truly determine who is better (when it’s close) would need to be something like: a FT20 with a win by 5 rule. I’m not saying tournaments should do this, I’m just making a point because people make such big assumptions based off like 1 to 3 game leads.

However, Fly kick would be fine. Shao Khan, Baraka, Sindel, Kabal, Kitana, Jade, Kollector (especially Kollector), Rain all get guaranteed damage off their armor breaker.

If only more people realize the skill required to play Liu against all his bad match ups. Seriously his anti zoning parry, is so hard to pull off without quick reflexes. I've literally never seen it utilized the way NK does.

What's your opinion on Liu's command grab? I find myself rarely using it and just feels weak as an armor break and move in general, I've started replacing it with his parry again for the wake up Krushing Blows and seem to get more use out of it than I ever have with the slam.
