I know this is for students but I watched as an Achalasia patient and I appreciate your explanation. Thank you 😊

Not a student, someone suffering with achalasia, I got some extra info. It's good to know there are some Drs getting educated on it. It's hard dealing with a whole life change from this invisible disease on it's own, trying to find someone who knows what it is is even harder

I’m so scared I was just diagnosed with esophageal dismotility I am I. Delaware where we have no specialist so I have been trying to be seen by a specialist I. Philadelphia with a 6 month or longer waitlist. Now seeing this I’m scared

I’m so sorry! I got diagnosed a week ago too with delayed motility right in the esophageal area. I am scared also. My first symptoms were feeling like foods get stuck in my throat, felt like I had a lump, burping, bloating, and later came heartburns. not sure what that is. I first noticed when my Gabapentin pill got stuck somewhere around my Adam’s apple. I went to get seen and the provider didn’t do shit but give me a GI consult. I went back to my former hospital and they did bloodwork, stool sample, H. Pylori test, and ordered Barium Swallow study which they had right there in the hospital but unfortunately the person who does them wasn’t there. I went to a different hospital a week later bc it was getting worse and that’s where I was diagnosed with delayed motility, no masses, or anything else other than inflammation from the GERD. My H. Pylori came back positive too, my vitamin D3 was very low as well. It’s extremely difficult right now bc I have to crush most of the pills for the H pylori treatment, 2 antibx, 2 different acid reducers 4 times a day for 14 days!! I just finished Day 4! I hope I get through this. I get extremely nauseous after my antibiotics even though I take my Zofran. I feel so helpless.🥺🙏🏽

I'm lucky to be living in India. My gastroenterologist suggested me esophageal manometry, and next day I can get it done as per my convenience. So simple to consult big reputed specialist in india with immediate treatment

@@letmedream111Yeah I agree, this is the first video on this channel I’ve ever watched, and I’m not a med student I just got diagnosed with a motility issue so came to learn more about my condition and appreciated the writing being sped up, makes sense to do that imho. And if needed people can always pause the video to read the words I guess 🤷🏼♀️

I had an Upper GI with Esophageal dysmobility, noting tertiary contractions through the mid to distal esophagus. Is this why I have trouble sometimes swallowing, it feels like the food does not go down normally?

*What is the Root Causes for Acid Reflux* ? *I have Dyshagia* ( esophagus ) *How to close "LES" ??* *Will Barium Swallow show if a Hiatal Hernia grew bigger* ??
@emteav333 ай бұрын
Hi Debbie, I had a barium swallow about 5/6 weeks ago where it showed I have esophageal dysmotility and reflux. So I think my reflux is because of the motility issue. I think a barium swallow can probably show if the hernia got bigger since it was last measured, unless the hernia is under 3cms because I think for smaller ones it’s not a reliable test. Hope this helps.
@debbiec62163 ай бұрын
@@emteav33 Seriously how do you take care of a dysmotility ??? I am trying to understand all this , keep in mind, I NEVER had any G.I. doctor talk to me about any of this . I did have a doctor for barium swallow and he only said this , my hiatal hernia was 2 cms , and that was last year 2023. I like to know how big it is now , so the only way I will know, have a Barium swallow ? I have healed my esophagus , thank goodness. I so far healed my acid reflux by taking Zinc Carnosine, DGL , Slipper Elm , Betaine HCI and probiotics , I followed direction on each bottle . If I can be any help , please leave me a message . I like to know more about Dysmotility . And how a person cares for that .
