He was just not able to control his power well when he was first knocked out and then he held back during fights with sasuke to bring him back. Remember kurama is always with him.

Don't underestimate Naruto Sage mode, because some of us have been rating Sasuke's rinnegan so high that we forget that Pain to was having rinnegan and Naruto was still able to finish. Or have you forgotten Pain was someone no one in Konoha could defeat. With this sage mode, naruto can still use the Genjutsu of the gizzard toad which is a sound genjutsu. Maybe I am getting this wrong, but is Sasuke's rinnegan different from Pain's? Well these are the facts. Orochimaru stated 3 tails Naruto was still far inferior to Sasuke. So there's no way 4 tails Naruto beats cm2 Sasuke. It's also flat out stated in the databook that Sasuke was stronger than Naruto in the last. And bruh adult sage Naruto shouldn't even be half as strong ems Sasuke. Naruto at this point doesn't even have an avatar and Sasuke would just step on him with perfect susano... the most Naruto can do is summon toads who would instantly get chopped to bits... Naruto also has lost his lightspeed movement along with kurama. So he no longer has the speed or durability to deal with amaterasu, or susano arrows. People hate it but sasuke was superior to Naruto up until the pain arc when Naruto learns sage mode. But then sasuke gets the MS and Naruto admits he’s no match for MS sasuke without mastering kuramas chakra. Meaning Kcm is the only thing that could match sasuke at that point and Naruto himself didn’t feel confident that his sage mode was a match for MS sasuke despite what delusional fans think. By the start of the war arc they pretty remain much equals, and a fight between them could go either way. It doesn’t ever become a one sided stomp until Naruto gets BM in which case he’s stomping sasuke, or when Naruto loses kurama, in which case sasuke is stomping Naruto.

(spoilers for kawaki arc) in the manga when Naruto fights ishiki, kurama implies he still has so6p powers. It was also confirmed when he used the lava style rasen shuriken vs Delta. Although kurama did say Naruto was rusty, this was related to his battle senses and not his actual power. If one was to go by the data books and scaling statements, so6p adult naruto is a lot stronger than teen so6p Naruto. He did lose his truth seeking orbs but he did get the other yin half of the nine tails. He also had 13 years to train just like Sasuke did. In the momoshiki fight both adult Naruto and Sasuke at base was able to keep up somewhat with fused momoshiki. Both Sasuke and Naruto were heavily drained of their chakra so both were at 50% power in the fight. Overall, I can definetly see why many would think teen Naruto is stronger but I think the adult version is at the very least equal to or stronger. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

@@awakenedfury8081 Yes they still have senjutsu of the six path and the rinnegan but they lost hagoromo's chakra that was in the seal, and just with hagoromo's chakra he could fight against juubidara before the tree, having the others half of kurama don't change the lost of hagoromo's chakra, half kurama was nothing compare to juubi and with just hagoromo's chakra he was equal to juubidara who had a stronger juubi than juubito
