Team 7 and Team 8 have different sets of purpose. Team 8 is mainly used for reconnaissance, rescue and surveillance. You don't see them in the front line directly taking ambush or kills. Majority of the episodes from Naruto to Naruto Shippuden team 8 is used to survey and gather information. Or to check the area for potential ambush and attacks before another team sets in. Team 7 however is used for forefront attacks and battles. Notice there are certain episodes where team 8 and team 7 gets combined because team 7 highly specializes in attack, defend and retrieve situations. So I think comparing team 7 and Team 8 is like comparing apples and oranges, lions from Eagles. Etc.. Both are strong and equipped in their own ways. 🙏

Team Kurenai is underrated. They were the first to complete the chunin survival test. Moreover, Shino was a badass at that time. There's literally no fight Shino lost. Even in the war arc, Shino saved the whole world from poisonous insects.
