It was only by chance did I come across this 5 year old video and it truly changed how I looked at Dragon Age 2. Merrill, for me, was a middle of the pack mage and I didn’t use her. After seeing this, she became an absolute beast. Not only that, I learned about tactics and how important it is. It made me enjoy the game so much more and it’s all thanks to your channel! Thank you for posting this and I hope you’ll continue to make videos.

I was testing some stuff last night and found a great cross class combo with a rogue and mage. If you have a lieutenant clustered with normal enemies, hit them all with fatiguing fog (both upgrades) to disorient them and have your mage hit one of the normals with walking bomb (both upgrades) and kill it as quick as possible, it will explode and since it was disoriented, it will do massive damage to the lieutenant and one shotting all other enemies in the area that are disoriented by fatiguing fog. Great for taking out hordes of enemies

It will also one shot you and the rest of your party if they are caught in the blast.

@@NinjaFlipsTV Very good...... I recommend FATIGUING FOG plus CHAIN OF LIGHTNING.... For a Dual Mage party the second mage manually activate the Chain of lightning after a quick reset of Fatiguing Fog.

@@NinjaFlipsTV it wont one shot you because friendly fire damage is capped at 75% max hp but yeah its best to avoid it

Sup Ninja hope your doing good, I totally understand if you cant be bothered to do streams no more ppl should be rewarded for there efforts. From what you mentioned in your other streams it sounds like a pain to you, I always found your streams more useful than anyone else's streams for solving problems, I haven't seen another stream that explained the blood of the 1st problem, you certainly know your RPG's your good at what you do, all the best to you Ninja.

Great Tutorial. How do I save preset tactics? Every time I respec I lose it! It’s annoying. Also, how do you get through the early game on nightmare without all those points forvthe better skills?

If u play Origins with Anders' perversity in mind, you might see that he's just as sick, possessed and off as DA2. Also a murderer and last from the very start

@@nordicblood8470 Nope, prior to "Justice" he is a murderer, liar and pervert. Can't even pass a statue without that thing wanting to fondle and rape it. Don't see a Templar without it wanting to murder him/her. And it's a blood mage. All before "Justice"

I'm playing dragon age 2 right now and I am lvl 8 warrior with 17 strength 26 dexterity 10 magic 17 cunning 12 willpower and constitution so I get more critical and have reasonable attack damage normally defense is real high too I have the warrior pack as well so I have very strong gear pretty much the whole game now

I know I'm necro posting on a 7 year old video. But! Recently been replaying through DA2 on a rogue and thus video was incredibly helpful. Question about the rune choices. Why did you have an impact and frost rune on your Bard's Honor axe. That's base spirit damage with +8 physical and +8 frost. I've seen some folks running either a set of straight spirit runes (Bard's Honor + Shadow's claw) or a set of straight nature runes (Low Blade + Beraht's Revenge Revenge), but not mixed. I figure it's for the nightmare elemental weaknesses/immunities for mobs. Just trying to determine what's optimal.

Honestly I had to come back and look at this, as I never really use DLC stuff. Typically I use Finesse/Spiders Heart w lightning, then maybe switch to Spirit runes before Orsino. Also, strongly recommend setting Aveline up w shield bash for staggers. Tactics when surr by 2 or more and if enemy elite or higher

@@NinjaFlipsTV Thank you Sir. Been going through all the videos for the rogue playthrough for tips & tricks. I know this is belated, but again thank you for all the work on the series. I know they toned it down a lot in Inquisition but I really love how DA2 let you customize the behavior of all the companions. It's almost a puzzle figuring out how to get them to act a certain way.

I'm noticing that now that for some reason, Merrill is not only totally out of mana when she is in combat because I have no points in willpower and BOTF takes up most of her mana pool, but it seems like she isnt casting anything using her health pool either. I looked to see if BOTF was active and my tactics were set correctly and they both are. So I'm kind of at a loss here. Any advice?

I notice you didn't deactivate Elemental Weapons or Rock Armor in the tactics. I'm assuming that doesn't hurt Merrill's ability to get enough mana back for Blood of the First?

Elem Wpn and Rock Armor = 20%. BotF = 70%. It still comes down to a bit of luck, with her abilities needing to be on cooldown at the same time as her healing then reactivating BotF. If she's casting spells, it's hard to get mana back to reup BotF. Not foolproof, but works more often than not.

Hello mate, is it possible for you to show all the abilited your companions use and their tactics? Like ... I can only see 2-3 spells on Merril tactic page. What about the rest? I don't know what to use, what to set up, what to get at low levels first etc

@@NinjaFlipsTV ABSOLUTELY agree........ The DUELIST is great for the One shot attack.... the SHADOW has a better overall utility use for every engagement... DECOY N THE ADDITIONAL CRIT DAMAGE
