+TREBOR SMAILLIW Martial Arts have always followed a path of innovation over the years and Ninjutsu makes no difference. Unlike some disciplines, it's called to continually innovate itself, as well as threats change in different periods, Ninjutsu must evolve and adapt to face these threats. Everything starts from a common base, strategies, techniques and applications. But there is always a common root that ties everything. Thank you again for your comment Trebor!

***** I respect your opinion, and it's a quite good question how do you know.. Well, point is you don't really know but you have hunch (intuition) by his stance and all. That's why you have to train hard and every day so you get that hunch really quick and react on it same way, it's also called muscle memory. Deep respect to Alessandro Timmi and his videos, but would like to mention video "Real Samurai Sword Technique - Cutting BB Gun pellet by Isao Machii - Japanese Katana Kenjutsu" where that "hunch" is extremly maximized, i strongly recommend to watch.

Yeah this could work but not the way they do it way, way to set up. No one will run at you like that and their the punch from far away. Of and if there's since idiot that will then get out of the way. You should train to fight a smart attacker not a dumb one.

Tyler Lalonde Just look a few videos of attacks on the Internet, brawls and multiple street fights in bars, pubs, lasting 10 to 20 seconds, and you'll see hundreds of these kind of attack. I wonder if you've ever had to deal with situation like this. Standard attack doesn't exist, and as I replied to you in the other comment, this is just a variation of a technique which can be performed in several ways, depending on the distance, the type of attack, the type of opponent you faces and the environment in which you find yourself, whether large or small. Improvisation, timing, simplicity and the reaction are the key to go out from a situation like this .. You have to train hard, train and train again .. And not using words. Also because you will never have the security to get out unharmed.

¿Y dónde quedaron la limpieza de movimiento, la base de sustentación y aprovechar la energía del oponente? el ninjutsu convertido en mera defensa personal callejera, qué pena
@JosephArlettaz
@JosephArlettaz 9 жыл бұрын
Sorry friend for my late reply, but you will never find "limpieza de movimiento y aprovechar la energìa del oponente" in a real street fight, because a real street fight (street combat, with no rules) is not a "traditional dance" or a traditional kata, where you look for nice movements, perfect distance or something else. It's horrible to see and extremely dangerous. Don't confuse a tatami (or ring) with the street, because they are two separated worlds. Movement should be fast, as well as the mental reaction. I can assure you that these techniques (practiced under stress) are effective and give you the right balance to react, to shock and then escape, as well as to control the opponent (in case of law enforcement applications). Ninjutsu is not "mera defensa personal", it is one of the oldest combat and survival system in the world, and it is still valid in our days. It was born first on battlefields. And battlefields where not something like stages. Before starting to say "qué pena", i invite you to study, hoping you'll never be in a critical situation of a real street fight. The real shame are those persons who are sure that their methods always work, without proving them in a real combat situation, against multiple attackers, a knife, a stick.. or worse, a gun. Every method is "the best" until you face a real fight and the only thing you wish in that moment (maybe one of the worse of your entire life) is to come back home to your family alive.

Nice video! I am interesed in the self defense aspect of practicing japanese martial arts, especially ninpo (ninjutsu) or jujutsu, but I have some questions I was hoping you could answer. Can anyone practice and apply these techniques effectively against a bigger and stronger opponent? For example, I am a short not too strong girl, and while it would be unlikely for me to find myself in a street fight, if someone threatened me with a knife on the street, could I be able to grab his wrist or hit the person hard enough to leave them on the ground and escape? I understand aikido doesn't rely on the strength of the person as much as turning your attackers energy towards towards him or herself, is this the case for ninjitsu aswell? Sorry for the long comment, thanks if you answer :)

+ddazuulada With proper technique and form it is, by the way, I see that you said you want to focus more on the self defense aspects of Japanese martial arts, but I highly recommend that you get into the cultural, historical, and philosophical parts of them as they really can have an impact on your life and can be very interesting.
