Nino Ramishvili - Tribute for 100th anniversary

Nino Ramishvili(1910-2000). Tribute to dancer,choreographer, teacher and one of the founder of The Georgian National(Folklore) Ballet Company for her 100th anniversary .She began to dance from the age of 10. Studied at Maria Perini's(Perini trained and grew up many Georgian great Artists, such as Iliko Sukhishvili, Vakhtang Chabukiani, Soliko Virsaladze and etc.) private Ballet Studio in Tbilisi, was trained as a classical dancer and joined the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre. From 1927 performed as a soloist in "Swan Lake", "Don Quixote" and many other classics. During this time she met her future husband Iliko Sukhishvili. Until 1937 Nino and Iliko worked at the Opera Theatre. They also gave many popular dance concerts.
Their duet was already very well known. In 1945 her dream became true when together with her husband she founded The Georgian Dance Company where she was soloist and dance teacher at the same time. She became chief choreographer and matriarch of The Georgian National ballet.

What a great and fantastic dancer! She had such a grace and elegance and stayed young and full of charisma even when she was already an elderly lady! I'm very impressed! Thank you Dito! She is on the same high artistic level like M.Plisetzkaya and G.Ulanova!

@TheMistAnchorite She is known as matriarch of our folk ballet. A legend, you can see her in beginning dancing when she is nearly 60 years old. She and her husband made timeless labor, when they created dance company. Thank you very much for these words, I'm happy you enjoyed

@pediatrapaola You know, I thought about Perini's phenomenon many times, because first teacher can make a big sign. Her greatness is not only, that she trained them classic dance, she managed to keep their national character. Sukhisvili,Ramishvili,Chabukiani and Virsaladze are the real examples.
