Its almost like... You need to reward good behavior in the PD. Thorough, and successful court cases for the PD should be rewarded. Senarios that end in de-escalation, or at the very least a reasonable or serious attempt was made should be rewarded. Investigations that are thorough, and accurate should be rewarded.

IMO hot gun charges should just be accessory after the fact. In the very least, they are holding evidence (the gun) and hiding it (because they don't come forward with an illegal fire arm). This would make it easier to avoid getting a gun planted on you, cause PD would need to prove you had concious possession, which can't be proven from a corpse. PD rolling up on a body and charging possession is just crazy when they've never seen the person actually posses anything.

I think the most you should get is an illegal firearm charge since it's like if someone let you borrow your car after running over 3 people killing them, then saying you should get either the murder charge or hiding evidence charge since if you didn't know it was used in a crim then how could you be hiding evidence, that needs intent to be proven which often times you just can't get so there's no reason anything other than basic possession charges should be pushed. It's the legal system being lazy and that shouldn't be rewarded
