Sung in Italian, with Hebrew subtitles at the start - obviously this video copy has gone through some journeys in its lifetime since the '60s.

Hardly matters about the song-what a great dress! I got a great A4 pic just above the computer of April Stevens posed with crossed legs wearing a full skirt with a mass of stuff underneath it But don't forget Nino & April have Italian parentage

Married? I HOPE NOT!!!! They're brother and siste! She lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, and he in L.A. On the back of this appearance at Sanremo, they re-recorded "Deep Purple" in Italian for that market as "Illusione". Worth seeking out on Italian Atco.

I've been trying to get a message to April Stevens, but her contact information no longer works. I just finished her book and wanted to send her the following message. Good morning, Ms. Stevens (Mrs. Perman) I hope this email finds you well and happy. My name is Ken Edwards, and I'm writing to tell you how much I enjoyed your book. Your journey from the Falls of Niagara to international stardom and beyond was fascinating to discover and I wanted to commend and thank you for your candor and transparency. I live in Costa Mesa, CA. and my affection for the pop music of the late 50's and early to mid 60's developed during my junior high years (early 70's) as the "oldies" trend was beginning. I always knew of you and your brother because, (of course) of your incredibly successful, #1 hit, Deep Purple and the follow-up, Whispering. But now, through the phenomenal rise of youtube, I've been able to discover the myriad of additional music the two of you created that didn't garner the same attention, and I've truly enjoyed discovering it - just wonderful! Because of my affection for the music of that era, a few years ago I began writing a blog called 4d5 rpm (4d5rpm.blogspot.com/?m=1), and in a large portion of it I focus on the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars fall tour of 1963 and the sudden rise of "Beatlemania" that followed, which you spoke of in your book. I started in that direction due to a friend sending me this KZbin link (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fV6tmntohJ2gfs0 which features candid home movies of the tour taken by Myron Lee, leader of the backing band for the tour, whom I was fortunate enough to interview a few years back. Well, before I completely bore to death, I wanted to say - I've been contemplating a move to Prescott (me and a thousand others, from what I understand) and I'm planning to travel there before too long to check it out. If you (and your brother, if possible) would be willing to meet in order for me to write an exclusive blog post regarding your fascinating career in the music industry, it would be my honor to do so. I understand that this might not be something you'd be interested in pursuing, but, nonetheless; thanks again for sharing your amazing life story with the rest of the world. I thoroughly enjoyed it! All God's blessings to you, Ken Edwards

The stage they're performing on looks like the Tropicana Nightclub from I Love Lucy ! Great song, though. Anyone know the English lyrics ?

@Yesimustbestupid Yes, and vice-versa. I CERTAINLY wouldn'y say something as patently untrue as 'acts from lands where English isn't the language sing in English so they can make more money by having hits everywhere.' (In any case, it's far more common for 'Americans' to sing in other languages than Britons, and they're far closer to other countries, like basically all of Europe.)
