A WiiU remake didn't make sense for a few reasons. One due to MM being a direct sequel to Oot. Two being the whole fact that a ton of the assets in Oot were used for MM three being that they remade Oot3D with a new engine which made the whole development process faster and more efficient so it would be silly to make MM on anything but the 3DS

Nintendo re-used the game engine from Ocarina of Time to make Majora's Mask back in the N64 days so it only makes sense for Nintendo to release Majora's Mask to the 3DS/2DS since Ocarina of Time is also on the 3DS (assuming the same technique was used on these remakes).

I see a lot of people saying "the graphics don't look too different" besides the fact that they have months before finishing so this is still in development, if you actually compared this footage to the same things on an emulator, you'd notice how much better the textures are. Don't have to compare it to the rom on an emulator, but you'd have a much easier time seeing the differences. Some of the character models were obviously ported from OoT3D (just like the original ported OoT models) and some of the OoT3D characters were just rounder but still looked about the same texture-wise, so some of these characters will look very similar to their N64 counter-parts except rounder. I'm pretty sure the main focus with updating the graphics here is to keep it in the same style as OoT3D since the original was in the same style as OoT, so just compare OoT3D to OoT, and we should expect the same amount of differences visually with this remake. Personally I would've loved this to be on the Wii U, but I'm all down for this on the 3ds if they change the Owl Statues to be actual saves, or change it so you can save whenever because the current saving mechanic is not ideal for the 3ds, especially if you only get to play for like 10 minutes at a time.

Antonio Rodarte They did fix the game breaking ones like the Ocarina Items which made it so you could beat the game in less than 30 minutes (speed runs), I think they also fixed the bomb hovering in OoT3D, though even if they didn't, MM's bomb explosions worked differently than OoT's. Main point is that the big game breaking ones will be fixed (most likely), but they'll probably add in any small and cool glitches for the fans.

I replayed this for this 3ds and kids today will never realise the struggle of the first cycle of trying to get all the stuff done (finding the kid's during hide and seek and getting the bombers code and moon tear) before the cycle ends and having the start the game from the beginning if you run out of time. Luckily they let you save on the first cycle on the 3ds so you don't have to be paranoid about time if you run out of it.

Majora's Mask is such an amazing game. As a kid it seems like a happy game (besides the moon) with the happy carnival music and the happy sidequests. But when you realize what the game is actually about, it's definitely not a happy game. It's a very dark game. And I love it! Can't wait! My N64 died so I can't play this but I am glad it's coming out for the 3ds.

There is so much more on it, you really should get one anyway. The passed couple of years have been amazing for the 3ds, sooo many great games. The OOT remake, mario games, FIRE EMBLEM, Bravely Default, plus many others. Just don't get a 2ds, those are bs.

It would be so badass if there was an easter egg that if you beat the game and get an extra save file named BEN afterwards. Then when you try to access it, the screen flashes for a sec and the Happy Mask Salesman's laugh is heard and the save file changes back to normal or something else.
