I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this game had an ending. It took me longer than I would like to admit as a kid to realise that this game was actually endless, and there was no secret final boss waiting for me after playing for a certain amount of time.

Since New Super Mario Bros. DS was in development at the time, the developers wanted to give players something to hold them over until NSMB came out. This originally was a Balloon Fight tech demo, with Small Mario (not Baby Mario) with balloons on his back, and the game was like Balloon Trip, except it was vertically scrolling down. This also makes sense since many sound effects in here come from New Super Mario Bros's sound library.

When I tried this in one of those DS-es you could play in a toy store, it was the realest shit ever. Not only could you throw the eggs using a touch screen, but they actually utilized both screens.

This game was my shit when I was little! It was so much fun playing this on multiplayer against my siblings and cousins. It litterally made you feel like you were on crack the longer you stayed alive because of how much you had to concentrate on along with how fast yoshi would run

The music is much more chipper than in the MIDIs ripped from the files. They sound slightly drained out and play the entire song instead of parts of it like the actual game.

I got this game for my 15th birthday, all my friends were on holiday and my parents went working, the music of baby mario falling down has a very melancholic touch to it. Not the best birthday. Funny thing is that I can't remember my 14th or 16th birthday.

I only just discovered that there's another Yoshi game for the NDS. I've played Yoshi's Island on the GBA, and must say I have a few quibbles with the NDS version: little touches like the transformation animations have been taken out - erm, why? Seeing as I have the card for the GBA version, and there are some pretty minor improvements to the NDS version, I stuck to the GBA.
