newfriend87 Primary disappointment was that it wasn't very surprising (although Mario Party made my day). But beyond that there's at least no lack of games going forward with Nintendo providing more exclusives this year than Sony and MS (most of their exclusive reveals were for 2019, something Nintendo simply prefer to hold back for future directs), so personally I got over it already even if the lack of Animal Crossing and the Retro Studio title was a big bummer. Basically, 2018 seems to be in the bag, and that's what counts.

Nintendo is genius. By not showing Metroid Prime 4 at all, they actually made people even more addicted to it and maintained the hype. They control the frustration of consumer and used their time in the most optimal way showing only the 2 games that they will sell the most (Pokemon and SMBU)

I think nintendo has the potential to surpass the xboxone this generation. I think the biggest problem with the wiiu was that it was marketed terribly. The mostly wii casual audience wasnt sure what it was. And they ended up going to other platforms like mobile and 3ds. The nintendo switch however was marketed as a new console much better and being a better option than mobile gaming, this audience is returning to nintendo. I expect the pokemon and smash bros game to really drive sales forward of the switch. As soon as online comes and sales increase, third party support will also increase I expect the xbox fanbase to die down due to lack of exclusives and all the people that have moved on to the PS4 due to their horrendous launch. Seeing as how the 3ds wasnt shown at e3 as the years go by, nintendo is still supporting it bcuz they know they can still squeeze some good profit from it. So i expect nintendo and playstation being the top players in the future.

correct, and the wii u didn't have enough great game either. Bad marketing, not stellar flasgship titles, game drough ... it was over fast. Switch got increadible marketing, like the Wii did, got excellent flagship titles on the first months and some classics too. The gimmick around the system is a real life changer and improve quality of life which is the key of success these days.

well your whole thing about the switch over taking the xbox one was right it did it in late 2019 and now it has passed the snes and the nes with it coming up fast on the 3ds and then soon the PSP, GBA, XBOX 360, and PS3 proably getting overtaken by summer of 2021 with then the wii and ps1 coming up next so yeah the switch is doing great

They should do the “core” set here too like in Japan. Taking away the dock, hdmi and the joycon base and simply sell the Switch with joycons and the charger for me is good enough to spend $200 on the Switch. $300 doesn’t logically make sense because there are tablets that are more versatile and powerful and are cheaper. Even PS4 Slim ($250)and Xbox One S ($199) make more sense and are easy purchases with more tech, power and games on them.
