No disrespect, but let me break it down for you: 1: Why would Nintendo announce a game this big in a general Direct?Mario Odyssey was revealed not during a general direct, but during E3 and Switch blowout presentation (6 months maximum before Switch launched). Similarly Mario Wonder was revealed 5 months before release. Both games have sold well. Therefore Nintendo doesn’t need to generate Mario hype this early. And besides why would you wanna spoil an integral part of the launch lineup? 2: If Nintendo announces a big new game and just says 2025, people will automatically assume its Switch 2. Therefore Nintendo would be unintentionally contradicting their “no switch successor” statement in the tweet. 3: BotW was an exception because it was already planned for Wii U (a console that failed commercially and resulted in many games being ported to Switch). Also, why would anyone want a new 3D Mario game or new Mariokart running on 8 year old hardware? 4: There are many other things that could effectively close out this Direct. Metroid Prime 4 (proven to be in play testing for the last 10 months), Mario Galaxy 2, and anything Zelda are popular/hyped enough to fit the bill (and no we don’t need to rely on leaks just to validate these options). 5: Just because Nintendo says next year doesn’t mean it’s next gen. 9 times out of 10 when they’ve said next year it was for games still on the current console. 6: You’re telling us that you’re not trying to instill false hype but later you tell us it’s time to get hype. What lane am I supposed to be in? 7: I’m unsubscribing.

There could be two 3d Mario’s, because Nintendo NEEDS a holiday title. Pokemon isn’t coming out this year, and the current leaked/speculated games coming out aren’t holiday title material. Think about it. Midori leaked the code names for two Mario games, being SPRed, and SilverStar. Silver star “was a project at one point” so it could be a game that Nintendo has just had in the vault. Also, the 3d Mario team has been at it for almost 7 at this point.

The commercial model of console(especially Nintendo) is based on FOMO by having as much exclusive as possible. PS5 and Xbox one suffers from it and they are doing this because more dev move on to PC. Budget and sales of the game is the key, not the technically advantageous.

I don't know that we'll get next-gen games this time...I'm guessing those will be revealed alongside the console, like the Switch teaser montage that showcased Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild & Skyrim. We'll probably get a console reveal later in the fiscal year (Q1 2025) that showcases 3D Mario, Final Fantasy 7 Remake & maybe Monster Hunter Wilds. I think the 2025 teasers will be Pokémon Legends Z-A gameplay and maybe (finally) a gameplay trailer of Metroid Prime 4.

I’ve said it before, and I want to be very clear- is there a chance they blindside us with a Switch 2 game teaser here? Yes, I won’t fully discredit it as being possible, given Nintendo has a lot of history with shock reveals. But that’s a VERY small chance of that happening, they’re not gonna put the Mario Kart before the horse, my dude. Is there the chance we get a big Switch 1 game nobody was expecting? Yeah, there’s always a chance they have a big game we didn’t see coming in the works, and the chances of that are way greater than a Switch 2 game teaser. But, being realistic, we’re near the end of the Switch’s lifespan, and it’s a lot more probable even if we see Switch games from 2025 here, it will be more smaller games- your budget titles, your Mario Parties, your spin off games. I mean, the September Direct ended with a megaton announcement of a remake with TTYD. They have games that even just being remade, would generate the hype a new game would. And yeah, Zelda Breath of the Wild had years of brief snippets shown… but that was also because it was delayed like crazy, since we have to remember it was a Wii U game to start before being a dual release. Hmm… what game do we have upcoming for Nintendo that was delayed for an excruciatingly long time, was initially planned for a system, and could realistically be a dual release? If you ask me, Metroid Prime 4 could very much be revealed at this Direct, planned for Switch, and once Switch 2 is formally announced, revealed to be coming for Switch 2 as well. It restarted in January 2019, they HAVE to be far enough along in the development to reveal SOMETHING. Bottom line- I want to stress I’m not here to discredit you or shoot you down. I disagree with you and think the chances are low they have a Switch 2 game here, but I’m very much not writing it off as an impossibility. It could happen, but I just don’t see it happening. But I think a big game that releases for both systems is a very big possibility.

Personally I’m okay with no brand new surprise game. The switch is 7 years old lots of great games and I rather have ports. If Nintendo can port remaster these games then it will be a great direct for me. Star fox assault F zero gx Custom Robo (Wishful) And if a third party company can port Star Wars rogue squadron 2, then I think I’ll be content. But realistically Nintendo will have probably a new Mario party game and a Zelda port along with a Metroid prime 2 port. Personally I would love a year of other Nintendo first party games, just because we have so many Mario games and some Zelda.

Theres no bigger thing that needs announcing besides Metroid Prime 4. The only reason i even bought a switch was because of that game getting announced LIKE 7 YEARS AGO. If its not Prime 4, nintendo is blacklisted. No I didnt like botw or totk. Both were mid.

In my opinion, Open world, is given more hype than it deserves, it's highly overrated. The only edge Open World game genre has over more linear games, is freedom to go where you want when you want. Stamina-based limitations of going farther on difficult movements, scavenging materials for cooking for enhancements or healing, is not exclusive to Open World games, Open World genre only popularized them. People who ditch a game because it's not open world is unjustified

Disagree, there will be no games in the Direct that are on the Switch 2. Though people forget, with Switch 2 having backwards compatibility, all Switch 1 games will be playable on Switch 2 anyway.

It's making me less likely to click on your videos when every time seems like youre going to be reacting to some new credible leak and then it turns out you just made a clickbait title to give the same take for the thousandth time. Honestly, here’s what I’m hoping for, and mind you I could be unrealistic and unreasonable with this hope, but for the one last thing portion, I want to see a new 3D DK game that plays similar to DK64, but bigger, more Kongs, a refined collectibles system, a bigger world with even more levels, and the return of K Rool and the Kremlings. At the very least, I would want to see a teaser for a 2025 release and for DK64 to shadow drop on NSO day of the Direct. lol Ik what everyone else wants, but this year, with it being such a big year for him, I think we need to be giving DK his flowers not just with the movie role and theme park expansion, but with a new and even bigger game than his last 3D outing.

Well I heard that they plan for the next 3D Mario to be the launch title for the switch successor. It’d make sense to me if they put it on the original switch and “Switch 2” because that’s what they did whenever a Zelda game was a launch title. I mean Twilight Princess (GameCube & Wii) and Breath of the Wild (Wii U & Switch).
