The issue is it's not really possible to make it backwards compatible, the Old PSVR used a mix of Old leftover tech related to the PS Move and Eye Toy to function, the new PSVR2 is closer to the VR tech standard and doesn't have those old technologies in it, meaning The games themselves would need to be updated to be made compatible. The issue lies with sony Cheaping out on the first PSVR and then decided they would make an actual standard VR set with the PSVR2

KZbin employees can definitely see your content even if it's not forward-facing to users. I believe there's a channel called MXR plays, who received strikes against their channel on videos that were deleted weeks and months before the strikes were issued. So I'm not surprised that it appears KZbin is the source for all of these leaks.

I disagree with the sentiment that someone waiting for PSVR2 PC compatibility will ever pick this up now. They completely gimped the features of the headset that made it stand out entirely, defeating the point of even thinking on using the device at all. We already had high resolution/high FoV headsets that are wired, we wanted the eye tracking and haptics. This entire move is DoA unless Sony rolls that decision back and implements support for those features.

For the Duke, it made sense to be more like arcade buttons or A Sega controller’s C and Z buttons, but on the S controller it was weirder placement. Chances are Hyperkin are gonna do the same as their Duke remake and put bumpers on it so I wouldn’t worry for the time being.

KZbin being the source for these leaks is exactly 0% surprising. Because it makes sense. Just because of how dense these announcements are, there probably is at least one human reviewer going over them at some point. Likely multiple. And since KZbin can't exactly pay so many reviewers across the entire platform enough that three figures are not worth a consideration, there is always someone who might take the offer. It's not something KZbin can prevent while also having to continue these reviews.

Splinter Cell means so much to me. I would play it all day but loved to play at night just because the dark atmosphere fit that game well. Weekends, after school, etc., I was there for it and the sequels. It’s my favorite game franchise and I’m so happy to see it coming out of the shadows into the light once again.

I own a PS5, PS VR2, and a high-end PC. I was excited about the idea of using my PS VR2 on PC with the features it supports, but they have decided to provide a half-baked solution for PC that doesn't take advantage of any of the features that PS VR2 has to offer. My PS VR2 collects dust because the Quest 3 is a better product and offers a better overall experience, so I use that instead and rarely have a reason to play PS VR2. The only time I purchase a VR game on PS5 is when they offer PS VR2 adapter trigger support, so not having that on PC makes it completely pointless. Just for reference, if you connect a PS5 controller to the PC you get adaptive trigger support for games that support it on console (E.G., Rainbow Six Siege). If you can do it with the PS5 controller without additional software Sony should be able to get the PS VR2 adaptive trigger support working on PC.

I recently bought a PSVR2 and really liked how immersive it was compared to the Valve Index. We really can't have all the peripherals for the index connected at all times so it's such a hassle to start a session due to all the accessories for accurate tracking. @@rift0tripper did you watch the game awards? 30 seconds for game of the year. Yes, he's been able to put a good show here and there. But SGF is not, or ever will be E3 quality. But yes there will be something in the show that makes it worth watching and suffering through the rest of it. Bandi Namco, Level 5or Sega could follow up a previous announcement for more details on that Deca police or SMT 5V. But most of this showcase will be boring AAAA DEI laced (mostly live service) rot. Nintendo aren't going to show anything here either. As someone who enjoys Japanese and indies, the vast majority of his shows content doesn't appeal to what I love about gaming.

This reminds me about how the original model PSVR CUH-ZVR1 also couldn't support HDR passthrough unless you did some weird setup with a HDMI splitter... sony eventually fixed this by released the second revision PSVR CUH-ZVR2 (apart from the cheaper feeling breakout box, it had advantages like HDR support, controls shifted to the headset, etc.) I wonder if Sony plan to release a more "definitive" 2nd generation breakout box adapter after a year.

I’ve been using an older generic Xbox 360 wired controller ever since I switched to PC gaming, and it has basically been my go-to whenever I want to play games on Steam. I feel that wired controllers are far better since it’s a direct connection to your gaming device, and you don’t have to fumble with the inaccuracy of a wireless connection, not to mention there is less latency in certain games.

FYI XB One controllers can be used wired. They're much nicer than the 360 controllers, you can just take the batteries out of them and leave them plugged into the PC.

I believe you can also use Xbox Series controllers wired. I've plugged in my Xbox Series controller to my PC when I didn't have batteries. And I know plugging in the controller allows data transfer (not only power) because I regularly update my Series controller through my PC.

Not to mention when I purchased this controller it was around $25 to $30 brand new, and now the controllers are in the high fourties’ for even a partly decent generic wired controller. I made the mistake of buying a PS5 controller when they first came out, the legitimate DualSense controller mind you, because I thought the technology would be perfect for certain games on steam, but I haven’t really even used it for anything other than a few games. The controller just doesn’t feel good in the hands, and it’s fragile as heck. I’d rather stick with something that I know works, and is rather cheap to replace if it gets broken.

In response to your commentary about the PSVR 2. I own both Q3 and PSVR 2 and the PSVR 2 is wayyyy better than the Quest 3 for horror games or any games that are dark. I never miss head set rumble, foveated rendering or haptic feedback when I play Quest 3 on my PC. The only thing I miss is the OLED screens because they are way better. The lenses aren't as nice in the PSVR 2 but for an experienced user who knows how to adjust for the sweet spot quickly its not much of an issue. I am very much looking forward to this adapter.

Are you sure the PSVR2 adapter is lacking things like HDR is a fault on Sony, or is it because PC VR games don't support HDR?

I knew the Valve Index didn't have HDR, so I looked up to see if any other PC VR headsets have it From what I could find, none of them have HDR

So all of the features that would make me choose the PSVR2 over a Quest 2/3 for PCVR gaming are not going to be supported for PCVR gaming. So no real reason to buy that more expensive headset for PCVR, when the same exact features will be available on the cheaper priced headsets🤷‍♂️

Digital Foundry mentioned that most cards don't do video through usb C, hence the need for a breakout box. I am guessing some other features might be related to ps5 os or hardware and thus cannot be replicated. It is nice to see Sony doing this but I am guessing at that price point there might be better pc native alternatives that are more feature rich. I only see the point if you already have the ps5, the psvr2 and you want to check extra pc games without buying yet another headset

5:40 the exciting part about psvr2 is the eye tracking and having better image resolution where you're looking at, without it this headset is just a more expensive meta quest... in other words the adapter is kinda pointless

Allows you to play on both ps5 and pc. That’s not useless. Plus meta is still streaming regardless if it’s plugged into a computer

When you have to tell fans to temper expectations every time there’s going to be a Summer Game Fest then maybe SGF isn’t the show you want it to be. He’s been saying the same thing since the inception of this event and it’s really a broken record at this point. Do we really need an event just for updates on games we know about when devs can just put out a blog post?

psvr 2 pc adapter announced - it also need it's own vr app. just like the "meta quest" need it's own app. ("meta quest link" app.) to enable it's vr headset. that's nice, but i really got a "meta quest 2" and connected wirelessly to my pc. nintendo leaker reportedly pulled information from youtube - yeah, once a youtuber schedule a video on youtube, it's bound to get view and leaked. poll - nope.

@matthewferguson6524 I mean you shouldn't buy this for pc specifically anyway it's just a nice 2ndary. Plus I imagine some of these missing things people will figure out ways to get them to work other things like headset feed back and adaptive triggers probably not I think it's possible but no pc headsets do that natively so games don't have that on steam vr anyway. I'm just annoyed cause they could of just made drivers for those that have a pc with usbc to graphics card and/or released a cheap adapter but nah gotta pay as much as you would for a whole new accessory just to plug it in.

You know, I was originally really excited about Kena. Ember Labs and Theophany collabed to make that incredible Time's End 2 trailer. But after doing some digging and having conversations with Theophany himself, the Ember Lab's team sounds like a terrible company to work with. Their contracts around music rights, royalties, etc were terrible. And refusing to work with Theophany on getting the soundtrack out for people in a good timely manner, was also terrible. As such I haven't touched the game and probably won't. Not a fan of supporting indie studios being terrible to staff or fans.
