I actually think smash bros has a chance to be a launch game for the switch successor. Weve gone past the point when brawl stopped development to when wii u and 3ds was announced and when wii u and 3ds stopped development and ultimate was announced. Even with the addition of sakurais vacation time, we're still way past the time span it usually takes to show off a new Smash Bros.

Nintendo was decently successful during the Wii U lifespan with the 3DS. But the Wii U was nothing but a drain on resources. But they sold over 75 million units of 3DS’s so that was a success at least.

Nintendo also stated that they acknowledged that a reveal of the “next console” will deter the switch sales…. This gives a huge hint; first, the switch sales are still strong and they want to leak it out. Second, they already have it ready to go and are in the last phases of selling their stocks to investors to sell to us… Nintendo is known to do this… they drop egg hints purposely and then they go hey here is this relatively crappy direct; oh one more thing…. Here is a couple of game previews and boom, expect the release of the switch 2 in…. So it’s deff happening within the next year March 2025 🤔 March 10th is also Mario day so I’m sure there will be a Mario announcement for the switch 2 as well as Zelda.

I think with in the first 6 months of the switch 2’s release they will release Splatoon 3 and Smash ultimate next gen updates thats free if you have the switch version. I could also see them giving the switch 2 version of Splatoon 3 a content extension and for smash ultimate, another fighter pass. I can also see them making next gen updates for games like Mk8D and Mario odyssey but updating the graphics only
