The Switch has been selling really well, and Nintendo has a bunch of smash hits. They also have enough reserves to survive several Wii U level flops. They are a lot less woke than basically every other AAA game corpo. And finally, while the typical Nintendo art style might get made fun of by soyny fanboys, it does mean their games are made with a significantly lower budget. Selling MK8 almost 65 million times already sounds like a lot, but now consider that they didn't spend 400 million bucks making it. The game would probably have been wildly successful with 1/10 its sales.

The only reason I can think of as to why Nintendo hasn't released any info after the leaks, and the quality of them, is down to a possible severe flaw in the prototypes they are working through to fix. It also makes them look even more anti-consumer than before, and they have a long history of that.

The only time lawyers get sent out is if the stocks are being negatively effected. After these "Leaks" their stocks dropped significantly, so the Ninjas were sent out. Doesn't mean the leaks were legit, but shareholders thought they were and it hit Nintendo badly.

You also want to know what is unofficial? Somebody buys a Metallica DVD. They go and get it signed. That signed DVD is unofficial merchandise because companies don't sell it. Pretty funny that they designed it based on a leak of what the Switch 2 looks like... and if it wasn't, Nintendo wouldn't have made a scene about it the first time, but they did, then decided to make a 2nd scene by making that statement about it being unofficial. Nintendo is either going for a Streisand Effect here, is in cahoots with Genki, or didn't realize that they proved that the design was basically the Switch 2. Now, leaked designs can officially change so it's possible Nintendo may change the design now just to make it so they can try to say "See?! It wasn't the actual design!"

Or was this simply Genki leaving after their time slot was up or was this the CES organizers shutting down their time slot early? Until CES or Genki speak about the reasons for leaving early and or if they were shut down early, then this is all just speculation based off of attendees having no context for their section of that shared booth being gone!

Portability and price were the switches 2 strong points, and it looks like Nintendo decided to go larger and less portable. This looks almost steam deck sized in their hands. I also highly doubt that switch will be anything less than $400.

I think the next Mario Kart makes perfect sense as a launch title. MK8DX was the most sold game on the Switch, hype is still up from the Booster Course Pass DLC, and it's been over 10 years now since the last big Mario Kart game. Feels like a no brainer if you ask me.

A Mario sunshine remake would be peak for me but there’s only 1 game I care about from Nintendo right now and that’s Metroid prime 4 my all time favorite franchise. Also we know we will be seeing the next mainline Zelda in late 2026 so that’s a year out that’s not too bad at all. So they had a 3D printed model of the leak behind the scenes, weren't publicly presenting and it got only out thete because some CES visitors shared it online? They themselves did nothing to promote that model anywhere, have i understand that correctly? This feels more like someone just showed off a model they made in their spare time. I don't know how the laws are in that case but it doesn't look like they can do much about it. But this shows that there might be more to the leak than they want to admit. I bet they were most likely trying to get info from them who leaked those details. At this point i wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo send their lawyers even to a kindergarten, just because a child there draw a picture of mario. This is dumb because scalpers already have bots on standby for the release date. If they wanted to avoid scalpers all they had to do was release it 12 months before. That way people can preorder and they could make enough for everyone. But releasing the switch 2 so close to the announcement. Will have the same problem as the PS5 and Xbox series x.
