Yeah I stand by the fact that because the Switch is $300 and lite is $200 is the reason why it has moved like 143 million units. There is no way the next Nintendo system is gonna be more than $400. If I'm not mistaken, this is Nintendos first launch without a handheld market already/still going strong. I'm curious how they will manage their og switch with pricing and producing in relation to the new system. Will they keep the prices where they are and release the new ones as almost an elite version? Will they reduce the price of the og switch to manage the new systems launch? Will they even continue making switches? When the switch released Nintendo had no intention (or so they claim) on discontinuing their 3ds, but rather talked about having different pillars of experience or entertainment.

I definitely don't think that we will see it announced until well after Black Friday and December shopping. Why would Nintendo undercut their last Christmas sales of the OG/OLED Switch? If they were to announce it then, it would undercut child/teenager requests for the Switch. My assumption is we will see the biggest discounts of the OG and OLED Switch in the run-up for the holiday period, and then I think they will roll out the announcement in January (possibly New Year week) to maximize FOMO -- with special edition preorders opened.

I agree with your argument that it is common sense and a reasonable assumption that Fallen Order would release on the Switch successor, but at 3:02 you stated that Jedi Fallen Order came out on the PS4 years after it was released for the PS5. I played that on PS4 at its initial release, so I had to double check. Per Wikipedia: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in November 2019, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in June 2021.

The next nintendo system will be "announced" by the end of their fiscal year. I am HOPING we get one sooner and they announce a Christmas release (basically printing money for nintendo). But I would also rather they take time to iron out any lingering issues and ensure a strong device upon launch, even if that means waiting another year.

I think they're going to ride through this holiday with switch stuff at full price, and then announce next gen on q1 of next year, and then when they eventually release the console in Q3 or Q4, they will do a price drop on the switch where the light becomes a 129 the standard becomes 229 and the OLED 269. Or consolidate them all into a dockable oled light for 289. That drops switch hardware back into handheld territory where they can keep feeding it for several years, complete with cross-gen for switch-first or smaller/indie games. That pushes the Switch's lifespan past their announced 10 years, maybe even past 12.

For Nintendo to sell this thing at 500, it can't be low spec. The customer isn't going to accept games that are not using horsepower to up the frame rates and graphics and have them spend 500. It has to at least be as good as PS4 Pro graphically and speed

From what I read, when the Switch 2 launches, they are going to effectively stop making Switch 1 games and everything will be Switch 2. But the 2 will be able to play both generation of games, thus making the 1 a door stopper
