Emulators will always be a matter of time though. Whether it's the amount of time it takes to figure out all the technicalities to get a proper emulator working or the amount of time it take someone to get their hands on a more powerful PC/Laptop/PC Handheld, not much will stop them from eventually being accessible to anyone. I think for emulation for modern consoles to continue they need to find a solid way to authenticate that the user owns the games they want to emulate so that Nintendo can't accuse them of piracy

It's so funny that many people actually say they really dump their games legally to a computer. No matter if emulators or modding a console. 90%+ of the time it's used for pirating stuff. It's natural that Nintendo would go against such products. Then again, I doubt they can eradicate all of it. It always excisted and probably always will.

Awesome work RGT, rehashing all of MVG's takes from the last Spawnwave video. Also, "it didn't go to trial" is a weird defense for Yuzu. They failed horribly, and are handing all of their work over to Nintendo. Good job guys. You think 'trial' would have been a pretty sight?

I'll be honest... I can't really fault them for not wanting people to emulate a system that's still currently being sold. If they don't want to make Gamecube games available then I'm all for waving the skull and crossbones, cause they are actively choosing to not take your money for it. But emulating currently available games *is* stealing if you don't also own a copy.

The point is unless there's something there that belongs to the company, they have no legal grounds. The existence of emulators alone isn't illegal. period.
@ivalterbaptista23059 ай бұрын
There is still ryujinx. It’s a great emulator as well. Nintendo does not have any case against ryujinx. They do not have any patreon page and are not profiting from that. We have that for now at least until Nintendo ninjas come up with a different excuse. I have a feeling a lot of yuzu developers will start working on ryujinx now.

Why are they attacking emulators if they’re legal 🤷🏻♂️…it makes no sense to me
@xxargonautxx97909 ай бұрын
I can agree with nintendo on this tho, the System is being sold currently. We know people are just pirating games. So they screwed up. Not like they went after everyone cause of nes, snes and all emu. It was cause it was on their current platform.

I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THAT! It's illogical to argue in court or anywhere about loss of sales if we were never going to buy a game in the first place! There was never a "SALE" to be had.

I feel like if Yuzu existed AFTER the Switch ended, they would've been in the clear. Unless Nintendo builds a valid reputation for preserving games, it would've been much harder for them to win the lawsuit. Ah well, RIP legend... 😔
@ErkkiPalmu9 ай бұрын
I dont really care about emulators since I actually buy my (physical) games. Also I'm not really into retro emulation, since I just think it's boring to play old school games from an sd card with a 1000 games. But youtube is on fire it seems.

What difference Nintendo will make? The difference that is going to make is that now those that make emulators to think twice when making an emulator that plays a system that is currently in the market.
