it's because it's neon red. neon holds more of a yellowish hue to give a fluorescent-like appearance. so red with the yellow will make it appear to have an orangish appearance.

$299.99 in the USA. Everything that she takes out of the Switch box comes with it. There are two versions this one with the neon colored Joy-Con controllers and the other is the same gray color on the Cons. Exact same contents though.

I am very excited for this system to come out! To tell you just how long I've been following this thing. I've been keeping an eye on this thing since those "Nintendo Fusion" rumors that started in early, like January or February of 2013, mere months after the Wii U was released. But the Fusion rumors stated that it was going to involve both a handheld and a home system. Like most people, my first thought was "Okay, a new generation DS/handheld that will likely mimic the Gamepad on Wii U and be able to connect or link up with the home system? Okay, cool." And what do we have with the Switch? Exactly that! Nintendo has always been a company that plays the silent game with what they are doing. Somewhere along the line is where the "NX" code name came in, but Nintendo never said anything about it's existence until last E3 that mostly focused on Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Reggie briefly stated that this game was going to be on both U and NX. Everyone was thinking that perhaps it's the initials for the system, like NeXus or something like that. I sort of figured with how many times Breath of the Wild has been delayed that it was destined to be released on both systems....this started as a Wii U only game....similar to Twilight Princess was originally only for Gamecube, but was "delayed" and we were told that they were simply toying with ideas....no, they were making the Wii version. Although I doubt the same differences will be in the new game that were in TP. Making Link a right handed hero? Nope they simply horizontally flipped the picture and made the needed changes for in-game text to say what is in the east in one version is in the west in the other and vice verse and the like. I think Nintendo put the Wii U out as some kind of bait to draw attention away from what they were really doing. Sure it has it's own line of games, but it really is just a really improved Wii. About a month ago, before the big show in Japan, when Reggie appeared on one of the late night talk shows here in the US, he showed off the Mario Run game as well as the Switch, Mario creator Miyamoto was quoted saying that the Wii U was a necessary step to get to the Switch. To me that says "meat shield" all over it. A big part I'm thrilled about is that it is not Wii Mii, or 3ii or apart of the Wii line at all! Nintendo is going out of their way to make up for the lack of marketing the Wii U faced and people thinking it was just an addon to the Wii they already owned. As evident by the Switch box and the ads so far.
