Of course so many people play Splatoon for the multiplayer that there's not as much focus on the story mode, which is a shame because the story mode is the single best 3D platformer on the Switch. Given the multiplayer focus of Splatoon, though, I always thought that a co-op story mode in Splatoon should be a thing...

So ready for this Story mode. It’s literally everything I could of asked for. OE was like a tutorial, but too difficult for casuals and costed extra. Base story mode gave you time to mess around and had interesting new concepts but was waaay too easy. It’s the perfect balance of tutorial, challenge and new ideas and I love it

Octo Expansion's story was decent. I felt learning about Marina's history as an elite Octarian soldier and technician was the most interesting thing. I'd like to see more things like that with Splatoon's characters.

@@that_tvhead I honestly think they should keep hiding story,its worked so well in the past.for 1 it made sense,it was something new and the story was great at its time.splatoon Will always have that feeling that no other game has managed to replicate yet,but 2 just felt boring.it’s only really Marie talking to you and going through stage after stage.Sheldon sometimes appears which is cool and made me realize I’m a charger main but we haven’t even gotten to the bad part.Callie and dj Octavio are done so dirty in 2.if you haven’t kept up since 1 all the lore between the squid sisters is missed,Callie was promoted to be the villian from the get go so no fun twist villain,and Octavio just felt like a complete copy from 1 but worst.I missed when you played hot potato with his cool giant bomb,or the final walkway with him spamming killer wails! Octo expansion felt more fun and refreshing because it was another twist on the formula.and while the ending comes out of nowhere it’s super interesting and fun Based on what they’re setting up for 3 it seems they finally understand.they give the lore enthusiasts some cutscene footage to mawl over for the time being while keeping the villain hidden.it’s really cool and I can’t wait to see what they do for the story

Octo Expantion was hard, but it was really really good. I love that "tryhard" moments in that DLC, probally better than the standard story mode of Splatoon 2

yeah so uhhh, DJ Octavio is easy - your fully upgraded. Frye is difficult without necessary upgrades. Shiver is easy even with an only bombs challenge. Big man is a great struggle. Grizz, yeah he was somewhat IA3 level, also he had the best battle music , happy little workers reprise

So do shooters and just about any weapon But players might be able to hear it, which is why it has a ranged attack. It’s supposed to either be used as a finisher when the opponent is trapped or if you wanna be funny and do a sneak attack, which I believe the Splatana Wiper (the regular one) does better

Yay! More grinding to 100% this story mode! It’s interesting that it seems like we won’t get hero weapon replicas this time around though (except maybe the hero gun at the beginning with a different kit than Little Buddy and Splashdown, though it would be interesting for it to be the only multiplayer gun with those)

Wait, the hub is inside some kind of huge dome this time? And hope we can still get Hero versions of the other weapons, not just the default Splattershot. I really loved the other hero weapons from the previous games, they all looked so amazing. (Classic Hero Shot, Roller, and Charger need a comeback if possible.) And if we can use a Hero Version of the Bow and the new swords, that would be SO awesome! Nice to see Callie speaking to us when we respawn in the hub also. I also really hope she can have her moment to really shine like Marie did in 2. And if possible, I would like her to be able to rotate with Marie and Cuttlefish at the manhole at the plaza. PS: Sorry guys, but calling Squid form "Swim Form" honestly feels wrong...
