@Harry EngelCorrection, it is! Most Wii titles are supported, however the only games that get alot of player's is mkwii, ssbb and pokemon black/white.

I got the same message after I finished a match with a Ganondorf, Falco, and Snake. My mom walked in the room and told me to hang up all my clothes that I left on the floor. I was too focused on the game to really notice because I was in the lead and I ended up winning the match. I think the craziest part was the match took place on Final Destination. Literally the perfect name for my last match.

It sounds like brawl gave you the most perfect farewell imaginable. Sort of reminds me of when the mk9 servers shut down on PS3. I had just won the match and the servers shut down mid-fatality! I was lucky to save a screenshot because I wanted to show a friend my terrible luck (at the time I didn't think much of it, oh just another connection error, I thought) little did I know I was taking picture proof of the moment one of my favorite games' online died 😭

This is the only recording I've found of Smash Brawl's final WFC moments. Kirby being the last ever winner seems fitting though. Such an anticlimactic ending though. Imagine waiting for a lobby that just never shows up.

_ D0ct0r _ my wii was acting dumb with the online. It didn’t allow me to go into it and even connecting to WiFi. I just did sub space and bots on level 9 everyday

Lucky7DX it wasn’t the worst online ever but it was pretty crappy because of all the constant lag and there was no progression system of any kind. there wasn’t much of a point in playing it but it was fun with friends

Nintendo didn’t shut it down. The servers were hosted by gamespy and so when they shutdown it took NWFC with it

They'd straight up have needed to redistribute all DS and Wii games that supported Nintendo Wi-Fi connection to connect to another server, or turn their DNS exploit public which would have been a garbage idea. They just chose to not go through that mess and instead accept that it had to die before planned.

@@tiramisuellie Who said anything about patches? These are all just dumb excuses. Nintendo is a BILLION dollar company, they could have figured something out if they wanted to, there were plenty of other options besides your ideas. Alas, they simply don't care about their fans. They saw the Wii run its course and decided to shut it down. Same thing is now happening to the 3DS and Wii U. Our entertainment and joy is disposable to them.

@@sillymovieeditors356 Unfortunately since patches isnt an option the only way to make the game connect to a different service would be exposing to everyone a security flaw on their device, or requiring to buy new copies of games that are edited to connect to said different servers. GameSpy shut down Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, not Nintendo. They couldnt have just said "Nah lets keep it up anyways"

Quite honestly, blizzard brought back World of Warcraft Classic servers, i wouldn't call it in the realm of impossibility for Nintendo to bring back old systems from the very first SNES to the nintendo switch of today (At the time this was posted, at least), and everything in between -- Including online re-support for wii things like brawl.
