I love how the Koopalings are presented recently. First, they make a surprise comeback in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, then they become playable in Mario Kart 8, Smash 4, and the Rio Olympics, and now they get more speaking roles in Paper Jam and Color Splash to give more personality to them. Things I noticed: Mario does a wheelie at 0:10, wheelies confirmed. at 0:13, racing on a round track, clock face in the background. DS "Tick Tock Clock" confirmed. Items are held in players hands first instead of dragged behind kart. DK Jungle from Mario Kart 7 comes back as noted by those giant screaming stones at 0:22. Also, it has a revamped anti-gravity portion at 0:43. At 0:31 there is a SNES course but with an anti-gravity slanted portion. There are numerous Super Mario Sunshine themed things, so its possible that Delfino Island is a setting. (Also, Nintendo could be hinting at a SMS HD remake). At 1:08 and 1:45 it looks like this could be Grumble Volcano from MKWii. As for graphics: I'm noticing realistic lighting on every surface with reflections that move as the karts progress through the tracks. I'm seeing dirt accumulate in the tires of the karts as they drive in offroad portions. Karts leave realistic shadows now that move dynamically as they change their orientation from a light source. I see an increased draw distance with a field-of-view blurring effect that looks quite nice and very cinematic. As far as I can tell there is no anti-aliasing, but Nintendo is only uploading in 720p so it's hard to tell. Also, the number of polygons that characters are made out of has increased significantly from MKWii/MK7.

I don't know why some of you are complaining about the May 30 release date. May 30 is still in Spring, and Nintendo said this game would release in Spring, so they are staying true to their words. And please think about it for a moment: Would you rather have Nintendo rush to have this game out in March and have it be sloppy, or would you rather have them take until May/June to finish it so that we can have a nice, polished Mario Kart game? I readily choose the latter, because this game looks extremely promising, and it looks like it could be my new favorite Mario Kart. I really don't want this game to be rushed. Please consider this before you bash the May 30 release date.

Well I hope they have some awesome stuff for E3 then,because as of now we only have 5 games for Wii U first party: Smash Bross,X,SMTvsFire Emblem,Hyrule W. and if you count Bayoneta. That can't fill a one hour slot,and I hope it doesn't,I seriously hope for new titles anouncement. A new IP and one or two new games. And more about Yoshi Yarn

I must admit, I thought that the Koopalings would be the last characters Nintendo would announce for any Mario spin-off game because of how they were neglected for many years until NSMB Wii. Now I am totally thrilled and cannot wait for Mario Kart 8 to come out.

I love the Koopalings, they made a great addition to the series, each one being different and unique with different looks, brings back memories from SMB3 to the new Mario games. Finally get to play as the, my faves are Larry and Lemmy, they are the only two adorable Koopas. Nintendo, please bring them back again in MK9!!!

i agree,there my favorite. ecspecially lemmy,hes adorable. i want them in MK9. Though,if i were to choose 2 koopaling characters for mk9,id actually pick larry and WENDY! this is cause it seems fair,cause ones a boy,and ones a girl. also there the 2 main characters. also,the sprixies deserve a chance.

If we had unlimited characters, I wouldn't mind the Koopalings much. But there's going to be at least a couple characters left out who are much more preferable than them. Everything else was great, though.
