Mario games have been out for about 40 years, and they always seem to find new ways to keep the franchise fresh. When was the last time you heard, "Mario games are getting old or stale?" No chance mini mushroom and mega mushroom are here. They will likely be wonder effects, like maybe you grow really big or really small for a single level after touching a wonder flower, but that’s it. Ice flower seems unlikely because if it was in, why wouldn’t they have shown it with the fire flower?

Something I would love to see added to the series at some point is a two tiered power-up system. Pretty much a reward for getting the same power-up twice. It's always just been a point bonus in the past, but I think the player should be rewarded for not taking damage before reaching another power-up. Especially in difficult levels like Ghost Houses and Castles/Fortresses. So something like getting two of the *fire flowers* will give you the standard fire power with a flame shield around you that can maybe take two hits of damage from most enemy types before its gone. With the *bubble flower* collected twice, you could ground pound and get an extra bounce from it that goes slightly higher than a full speed full jump. With the *elephant* power-up, after collecting a second it will put you into "stampede mode" to where you are invincible and dashing forward and flailing your trunk around wildly, spraying water as you go for a few seconds. I love the badge system they are introducing as it changes up how each level can be approached and replayed. I think it would be amazing to see some changes to how power-ups are traditionally viewed and used in the future of the series as well to add more to the replay value and reward for good gameplay 😊

Could be cool but if it gives you a shield, they'd need to do something to balance it so it doesn't make the game super easy. Maybe make it so you can't get it again if after losing it unless you lose all your powerups or get an entirely different powerup. Or just make it so you have to get like 3-5 of 'em for the shield instead of just 2.

I like the idea of making it temporary like you did with the stampede mode. If the second tier powerups last, say, the length of a typical star powerup, they could make the effects really powerful and useful without breaking the game.

I was just thinking of the shield that Sonic gets in his games as a reference. Except you can only tank one hit with his, but since it only requires you to find it once that seems balanced.

But something like the bubble flower I think could be permanent until getting hit, just because it is a more passive ability you gain. Saw the first Super Mario Brothers game played at an Arcade cabinet when I was little at a pharmacy called People’s Drugstore. I did not know what it was and when I was 6. Then when I turned 7, The Nintendo System first came out and I was awe by the similarities of the game. THATS how long the Super Mario Bros. Game has made a huge impact to everyone that not even Pac-Man or Sonic has made a major impact as an iconic character for 4 decades! I’m now 46 and still love how so much of this game has improved and still retain the side scrolling that fans still want and adore!

The cool thing about this game is there’s so many new elements and enemies it’ll make you hesitate with some areas. Instead of just charging through you’ll have to get around new obstacles. I also t wish this was the thousand year door coming out, I’m so hyped for that game and super Mario bros wonder! I can’t wait to play as toadette!

I’d say the Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a NEW NEW Super Mario Bros. Game because it actually feels so new. There’s several things to explore here in this brand new adventure for Mario and friends.

One thing I appreciate about Nintendo is that they are able to build off of what they've done before in amazing ways. A lot of games give and take power ups, characters, and abilities, to the ire of fans, but when you look at this it seems like the reason why they do that comes down to either hardware limitations, no time to implement all of it, or just they cant figure out how to implement everything or just want to keep it simple. Here you have returning power ups, new ones, a shaken up formula that desperately needed it, badges that can be used to subsidize all the one off powerups and more, easy characters so that little kids can play (honestly a godsend). Nintendo can make some baffling choices at times but it's clear that they are still innovating. I'm sad Charles Martinet left but it's good that it was before this because I think we're in for a fresh start for the Mario series. Can't even imagine how the future of the series will look like. Also huge props to the VA she brings fun energy and she delivers quality every time.

Of all the trailers I've watched in different languages (EN, SP, IT, FR, JP) Japanese voice over is the best, it is very anime and isn't condescending tone like they're talking to a toddler. Next is Italian version, enthusiastic but not over doing it like this woman in english trailer. Sp and Fr are both equally bad. English trailer is the only version that doesn't voiced by a man, and it is also the worse trailer of all. Coincidence?

I love how Elephant form is basically a GigaChad, being unfazed by enemies (2:17). That being said, I feel for poor Yoshi (5:15) having to bear the weight of an elephant (hasn't Yoshi suffered enough already?).
