Wow, thanks very much man, it's so good to know you approve! Your original track was awesome.

This has got to be one of the best tracks you'll find in a Game Boy game! I hope you all like my SNES-rendered 80s dance take on it :)

Now, I kinda wish somebody would do a SNES chiptune version of the Game Over track of Asterix for the game boy...
@luxtenax91754 жыл бұрын
I have never played this game before, but the music and the whole aesthetic is just so good. It's so nice that I keep being amazed by such an old system. The original Gameboy is full of surprises.

I know a few YTPers would love to use this track someday, this is a catchy tune and you made it better with the SNES soundfront! Great job!

Thanks! It's actually not a soundfont though. It's playing from a real Super Nintendo! :)

Came here to get an idea for what this game getting a LRG reprint was like. Left mind blown by potentially the greatest gameboy song I've ever heard, amazing job on the conversion!

There was a song by John Foxx called Metal Beat kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2iqZH2ta6apjMk , which explains my confusion. But i realize now i’m completely off the map. This is a good surprise.

@@NintendoComplete what is your echo and fir filter configuration?
@NintendoComplete4 жыл бұрын
@@mmr395 Do you use SNESmod? These were the settings I used, and I was applying the filter to everything but the two channels playing the bass line. EDL 3 EFB -45 EVOL 45 EFIR 21 18 9 6 3 9 15 21 I'll also link the .spc file for you in the video info so you can play it through SPC700 and see what's going on, or rip the drum samples ;)

@@NintendoComplete Yes I use snesmod to make my arrangements and I had problems with clicks on the my custom samples but I was able to solve them using BRRtools. nice is a custom fir filter? I'll take a look, and if you want I have a fir filter to make a really cool reverb effect on the echo EDL 4 EVOL it's good to use high volume EFB -100 EFB -1 8 23 36 36 23 8 -1

@@mmr395 Hmm I've never tried any negative values before, I'll have to give it a go :) Yeah, it's one I came up with. It's meant balance the sound range a bit better and to fatten the leads and the kick. A good trick for that nasty glitchiness is to put blank "samples" in the first four slots. Start your samples with #5 and go forward from there. I'm not sure why that is, maybe some sort of memory allocation issue? I did that for this song and didn't get any sample crackle at all.

Nice - my only real complaint is that the tempo feels a bit quicker than the original, but I'm guessing that was done deliberately to better emulate the 80's electro feel.
@NintendoComplete4 жыл бұрын
That was exactly the reason for the tempo shift, and for why I abridged the intro. If you'd like it slower though, KZbin just recently changed the playback speed option to let you set to whatever you like. Dropping it to .9 -.95 should get you close to the original's speed.
