I will never forget going to college in the fall of 1989. We were all moving into an on-campus townhouse, and someone plugged in their NES downstairs and we all took turns playing punch out. That's how all the guys met each other, we kidded my roommate because he got beaten by glass joe, and we all bonded that first night over this dumb game! I dropped out after 1 year, and I have no idea what happened to any of those guys. But for that one night, we were all high on life and all giddy because we had moved away from home to school. I had an Atari when I was a kid, but I was not playing video games and had never played nintendo. We had great times and it's a fantastic dear old memory

I've only ever played the Mr. Dream version, but this is the one that most people will refer to. Punch-Out!! is a classic. 31:51: “So we have a new WVBA Heavyweight Champion of the World in Little Mac, the 17 year old Bronx native who took care of the 27 year old Super Macho Man in two rounds, and it took five knockdowns for Little Mac to achieve his lifelong dream. That’s it from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. For Larry Merchant, George Foreman, Harold Lederman, Michael Buffer and our entire HBO Sports crew, I’m Jim Lampley, and from all of us at HBO Sports, have a Merry Christmas.”-Jim Lampley. I absolutely loved this game , there was a set of twin teenagers that lived up from me, they were the only dudes I ever seen even make it to Mike Tyson. I had my grandparents get me the power glove because of this game

Bravo champion! J'ai des souvenirs incroyables des combats de Mike Tyson. J'étais adolescent devant la TV. Et Mister Tyson écrasait tout le monde.

I remember going to toys R us to purchase this game back in 1988 in Las Vegas along with spy hunter. The games were stored behind the glass like todays method
@toddjones14802 ай бұрын
I never saw a Toys R Us with a glass case. The ones I went to had tickets that you'd take to checkout. The actual games were a walk-in cage near the exit.

28:09 I'll never get over how, Nintendo knew that "Iron" Mike Tyson was such a beast that they HAD to make him a Final Boss
@thefonzkiss6 ай бұрын
wtf, of course he is the final boss, he’s the only actual boxer in the game. Weird comment.

Good show! I've been playing this game for 35 years now, and still can't beat it. I make it to Super Macho Man reliably, but I've only beaten him perhaps a half dozen times, and I've never beat Tyson...

When I was a teen, me and my Uncle teamed up to beat this game! I could beat everyone but Mr. Sandman and Super Macho Man, and my Uncle never beat Tyson. He never learned how to snap back after dodging, so Tyson always knocked him out.

From what I remember Tyson would back up and go into a rage after the first knock down. Didn't see that in this one. You had to avoid a flurry of punches and one hit you were down.
