Miyamoto created the series. Aonuma just took it to add more puzzles and remove exploration and combat (but thanks to BotW this issue seems almost over)

Mr Eiji forgot his strategy to win those. Almost every obstacle course in MM have the tendency the get harder each day you are in. If you are doing this challenge at the third day, it's almost hopeless, but doing it in the first day is actually pretty easy. Same goes for the bottle race with the beavers.

So it's his game.. and this was his first time ever even playing it? It looks like they didn't get an input from him whatsoever on the re-make. Disappointing, they ruined so many simple things. Majoras Mask remake is a worse game than the original N64. I'll take worse graphics, for a better gameplay.
