Master beast: the player raging at the fact that he lost despite "great" performance. Master edges: the player trying to illegitimately improve his skills via hacks. Master shadow: trying to replicate his skills again trying to play as their favorite fighter, only to see them becoming the worst character for them. Master fortress: the massive ego of the player, trying to rebuild itself, where their now bad skills remain, a husk of og its former self. Master core: the player finally realizing that he has done nothing but harm to his own skills, accepting the fact that he has lost many times in a row in a game, and moves on, rebuilding his old skills eventually.

Ironically, he used ganondorf when it was gonna be gauntlet that is master core. So in a way, he was still using captain falcon, it's just his semi clone. A neat fact about the Master Fortress: the enemies behave much more like fighters than the enemies from the Subspace Emissary. You can grab them, use Witch Time on them, use Nosferatu on them, etc. The only thing you can't do is use Pikmin.

Fun fact: Shinnok from MK4 was originally meant to be the final boss because of how popular MK4 was (And because of the rumors of a new Mortal Kombat movie with Quan Chi and Shinnok), but Ed Boon refused. After pleading with him, Ed compromised and said they could only use one of Shinnok's skeletal hands instead. The rest is history.

While I personally like Master and Crazy Hand in SSBM, I’ll admit there was always something so eery about him appearing in the VS screen and that music in the 64 version. I downloaded melee through proxy at my computer science class in high school. The IT guy happened to come walking in and saw. He was like "did you download that on school property?". I was like "hold on one second man, I'm about to beat master hand". I did, and my school account got permanently banned lol. I just used someone else's account for the rest of the year and passed with a 97. I figured beating master hand at level 50 was way more of an accomplishment than the class.
