What did you think of EIW and master books American history?

Master Books Writing Strands. Every other lesson is literature. We love it. You get to pick the books they read. I pull books from the history they are studying.

Thank you so much for your informative and warm reviews! They are well thought out and thorough without being too long! Thanks so much and keep up the good work! I found it all really helpful in deciding what to do for high-school this year. We are doing Masterbooks for History and TGATB for language arts. Let me know what art program you can find that's good! Blessings on you and your family.

The best language arts program we've used in our 16 years of homeschooling has been The Good and the Beautiful....and I've tried just about everything! Lol! I LOVE their high school language arts especially as it incorporates SO much in those little booklets. They include literature as well, and my kids have loved the book choices so far (we've used both of the high school levels they have out). They also have videos to help teach concepts...so incredibly helpful. Might be worth looking into for your daughter. I'm a new subscriber, and love your videos! Blessings! ;)

This is relevant to me now as I have a rising 9th Grader. Thanks for putting this out there. How did Essentials in Writing/Literature go?

It was pretty good. It was pretty easy for her to work through.

thriftbooks.com is a good source for books (and a low threshold for free shipping) memoriapress.com has wonderful Literature guides that could be used with the Writing program you chose. As with the Geography curriculum, treat the grade levels as a guide and just choose books which you would like your daughter to read/she is interested in reading.

We love TG&TB high school language arts. It covers both literature and writing, as well as grammar and also includes some art appreciation and geography review.

Thank you for the recommendation. I’m considering TGTB for my 9th grader next year.

Are you going to do an update of how all this went? Or do you have a video about it? I might have a ninth grader next year. 😳 (part of me wants to say still middle school maybe til Jan) I just can’t decide. But curious what you thought of your choices.

We did end up switching her math to Ace/Pace and switching to Ace/Pace English. Everything else we still like a lot!

I am using Easy Peasy with my high schoolers. It allows them to be more independent so I can focus more on my first, fourth, and sixth graders.
@Abiding.Farmhouse4 жыл бұрын
How many hours does your high schooler spend on easy peasy a day? I've heard great things about it!
@jillk99564 жыл бұрын
@@Abiding.Farmhouse I am using it next year. Though my eighth grader that is going into 9th is using their English right now which is why I decided to go with Easy Peasy full time. It depends on what is assigned as to how long it takes her. If she is writing a research paper it could take 45 mins to get everything she's assigned done. I've noticed though that it typically takes her 30 mins to finish her English. PS: My daughter loves it.

In the past we’ve used the Robinson Curriculum reading list for literature! This up coming year I’ll have 2 9th graders and we’re using our suggested reading list for our history program as their Literature class. We’re also doing AM history but we’re using compass classroom bc it’s a dvd program. All their subjects are either dvd, cd, or online! I have 5 kids😅 we’re also doing the same writing course you are! Hoping it works out well! They’ve tried IEW writing and didn’t like it very well! Anyway good luck!! I can give you a list of all the curriculum we’re using if you’d like?? I’m having them knock out some 1/2 credit course this summer to get them out of the way! They are also finishing up 8th grade math this summer as well😂😂
@Abiding.Farmhouse4 жыл бұрын
I didn't even think about using this summer for half credits. Good idea!

Recently found your channel and absolutely loving all of your content. You have double the kids that I do and somehow quadruple the patience haha. I have a question for you, if that’s alright. I have younger children and we’ve been homeschooling for a few years now. My kids are starting to ask about public school periodically and I’m wondering if this is something you’ve ever dealt with as you’re further down the line than we are. Have any of your kids expressed interest in going public or has everyone been totally content to be home the whole way through? Wondering if this is a normal thing that homeschooling families deal with or if this is unique to our kids. Thank you for being such an encouragement! God bless. ❤️
@Abiding.Farmhouse4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Yes, my two oldest girls expressed interest in I believe last year. I even considered it but we all prayed about it and just felt that we shouldn't and the Lord was still calling us to homeschool. So, I say yes it's completely normal. ❤️
