Yes. It seems at this point that nothing's gonna come from Nio partnerships with other car companies. Only Nio can save itself. Any partnership that will bring something to the table should be considered as an extra.

I don't see this as a negative thing. If CATL invests in battery swapping, it means that NIO's business model has a future and will be profitable sooner or later. There is room in business for everyone. NIO has the advantage of having started early.

Why you all make Nio videos? I answer.... this is money magnet :D 1. Nio need sell first in china at least 10k in one week, then expand to europa, 2. Nio need to sell all other brands in same store, because if you sell 1 car per day any shop, you have room there to sell other 2 brands different corner, keep cost down. 3. Who need this firefly hybrid ? Small hybrid then all people will buy toyota lets face the truth ! 4. You all can make those videos and say how big potential Nio have, hard truth is, nio progress is still s^^^t.

Nio's option to "lower profit margins" is inexistant. Look at Nio's gross margin and compare that to BYD's or Tesla's. NIO has too many car models (10) with far too low production units for each car type. The annual production for each car type goes from 20,000 units up to 60,000 units. Compare that to TESLA with the lowest units produced is 75,000 and up to 1775,000 for model 3 and Y. NIO is the only car to rely on battery swap station in the car industry. This is IMO a major headwind fot their future success. Tariffs are imposed to all chinese cars, why are they different to BYD or Geely ? What's the NIO brand recognition in europe, compared to Volvo (Geely) ? The main competitor for the ONVO L60 (on which NIO hopes to double their sales, and increase their margins up to 20% (from negative) is the top world sales car: TESLA Y. And the ONVO L60 are going to use BYD's LFP blade battery. This car, is supposedly going to be available mid 2025 ... in Europe. BYD's comparable car: the Sea Lion 07 is priced $26250 in China, the ONVO L60 is priced at $29300 (if you don't use the monthly subscription to rent the battery). BYD can produce the Sea Lion 07 in Hungary, avoiding european import tarifs, NIO has no plant in Europe. BYD is delivering them in Europe right now. What's NIO's competitive advantage here ? Metric BYD Geely NIO ================================================ Market Cap $89.5 B $16.9 B $13 billion​ Debt-to-Capital Ratio ~42%​ ~44%​ 55% Profit Margin 6.5%​ 4.8%​ (-15.8%)​ Free Cash Flow $3.4 B $1.2 B ($-2.7 billion)​ Sales Revenue $64.6 B $20 B $7.4 billion​ ============================================= IMO the only reason NIO is not yet bankrupt is their main investor: The AbU Dabi government who's holding 20.1% in Nio. To produce $7.4B revenue, NIO is burning $2.7B in free cash flow.
