That's kinda what i want to see, that i haven't yet, at least without digging into dozens of rando videos to find out. then there's dmg vs survivability argument. right now, survivability probably takes precedence with non-maxed gear, which this staff build doesn't really have outside of sloth. can spin 2 win survive getting hit while also dealing dmg? idk yet.

Benkei set bonus (except for chest for B agility), viper chest piece for B agility and 5% ki consumption. Use skikigami for confusion and poison for for even more damage. Guns need 2 different graces for 500+ hp. The build destroys ki and kills almost every boss, even humans, with ease.

100% Dream of the Demon completion here. You have to be very high level on your build because all enemies are damage sponges. Love the new weapon, I;m running a Benkei set build focused around the Dragon Dance skill, melts through everything. Can't wait to see some new builds from you!

I just started this game and went with a Kusarigama/Ninjutsu build however I started trying out other weapons and loved the splitstaff so I used a book of reincarnation and switched my build to a splitstaff/onmyo build and love it so far. Still have to build him up some but I just got thru the 5th main mission. Somehow beat Kamaitachi on the first try with the splitstaff. Love this build and great video!

Love the new dlc, it seems perfectly tuned. But maybe thats because i am still underleveled from the recommended mission level in DOTD 🤣. The New DLC missions however seem too small or less might i say, 🤔 not upto expectations ? I liked the reworked Umi bozu, although lot of people in the community were crying over it lol and that secret boss at the end ? Loved him too 🌩

You need saturated+confuse+back attack to make storm kunai point blank spam effective on dotd, a bit rng on the back attack position unless you re on coop play, so yeah, RIP kunai lol

I’m there with you. I finally hit 2540 Damage on my Dual Bloodstained Cleavers at 170 (+16). It’s doing great damage but it’s hit box is very small. That’s why I’m considering switching over to staff, but if I do that I’ll have to get rid of all my Master Swordsman in exchange for something else.

Hey @pwar, can I get your take on the purification talisman? I ran a test on purify earlier and it didn't seem to scale on +elemental damage so why use if it isn't buffed? Is it possible to do more damage than let's say lightening?

cuz i already shock enemies with the shikigami. purity is mainly there for a 4th debuff, which helps in depleting yokai's ki. the elemental dmg boost on yasakani is mostly for the shiki's as well. if you mean inari ele wpn dmg effect, again, it doesn't directly boost elemental, it boost your wpn dmg, if buffed with a talisman. i.e, your physical dmg.

Another thing the dlc added, that I haven't seen anyone cover yet: they raised proficiency levels above 30 now. So you don't have to pick n choose as much. Ninja and onmyo got raised past 50 as well

You mean the video theme? Cause I think team Ninja is basing their weapon selection largely off weapons that they've used in older games, namely Ninja Gaiden. All the weapons available (aside from Hatchets and Spear) have been seen in Ninja Gaiden.

it's just a dmg increase, whenever you attack with the wpn. now whether accumulation is based off that dmg, idk. idk if talisman is a % based off your dmg, or based off your raw, or simply based off your onmyo power.

Need that quality amrita for that heals on my chest, the way I modified it is when I get heal my def goes up. Would had been def and speed but the cat is too low lvl and expensive to keep.

So...one other KZbinr makes a Benkei set, the other makes a Tosa set and I honestly wasn't convinced, it was just the dragon dance inheritable that made the bulk of the DMG, and using Tosa feels like a shame with this weapon. Boom you start by taking an indirect shot at them and saying this is the best set 😂😂😂 This is definitely more my jam, but not sure dropping 2 set bonuses (3 shibata and 6 golden boy) for that 20% elemental dmg is worth it.

Oh no the damage is DEFINITELY worth it. Even before watching this vid I had already realized this weapon was build for elemental damage and began transforming my switchglaive set to something more elemental friendly and noticed a dramatic impact. I only regret not paying closer attention to this Yoriki set instead of just using it as soul match fodder. I'm going to have to take it all back to the drawing board 1st thing when I get off of work.

Clearing the new mission takes about 4~5 hours. But there is tons of new stuff to collect (soul cores, armors, new stats, and a whole new deficulty) all of this takes at least 15 hours I guess.

The dlc is so worth it. All the bosses are fun, the new items. The split staff is amazingly fun, one of the most fun move sets in the game. Divine soul cores, demon parade scrolls, new sets, new hidden skills, new smithing texts, Grace set bonuses new star effects on forged or found equipment, and of course the new difficulty that makes the game actually challenging and fun again. The dlc levels themselves are really well designed and the new enemies are great even if there wasn't that much of it, I prefer quality over quantity anyways... Remember there's still 2 dlcs to come. Buy it you won't regret it.

poison broth counts for elemental wpn dmg. otherwise poison shurikens/medusa powders do fine, like i used.

And poison is staus ailment. if so the only reason to have water /lightning element on weapon is extra buffs (more damage with water or slow throught lightning)?

the buff doesn't work with imbued element, only tailsmaan or oni-b, but I think it's still wise to imbue your weapon with either lighting or water, as you can stack dmg of selected element on other gears.

the nerf about poison is the melee damage against poisoned enemies because they're so strong,and yes Confusion can be only Elements(Fire,Water,Lightning,Purify(Corruption and Purify doesn't stack)

I feel like splitstaff only works with heavy armor. The attacks have a long animation and takes too long to recover. I was hoping to improve my onmyo Genmei build, but is not working. Your build brings a little variety, but I can't see another one besides the tanky Benkei.

@Ali Miri yes! And dragon dance misses a lot too. I thought we got a kusarigama kind of weapon, but it is a lot worse. I'm hopping they fix this, maybr adding a way to cancel animation or hyper armor to be viable to light armor mages.

@Ali Miri I can literally destroy most bosses including humans with the splitstaff. Splitstaff is an endgame weapon. You need a good build to do good ki damage. If you can't defeat a single human boss, your build sucks.

Yes. There's graces now, 1 of which is for ninjutsu, with a 4% damage reduction as well. Arbs there's 3 new shadow arts that make the old ones look like stones lol

there is none. you simply forge divine gear till you get the grace you want. its random. 10 total, so you have 1/10 chances each craft.

Hey man. I just wanted to point out that you had your Split Staff in your secondary weapon slot. So you aren't getting any of the passives from the split staff tree

But it does say in the tool tips of any weapon passive "When you have 'insert weapon name' equipped as your main weapon." I remember someone saying when the game first came out, that it means your weapon equipped in slot 1.

Nah it's just whichever weapon you're currently wielding. That wouldn't make any sense if you invested in to a weapon and all of the skills didn't work because it was in a different slot. You couldn't have weapon synergies that way. When u draw the weapon, u get the passives.

massive ones, probably. moonlit snow without hyper armor is kinda bad for odachi overall, so you might want to opt out of moonlit for twin moons, or swirling snow. otherwise you'll have to pick your moments with landing the full msnow combo. sloth talisman definitely helps with that, but only against bosses obviously.

Doesn't need it. The Genmei set applies weaknesses automatically on onmyo hit

@@obi-wan1992 I wouldn't though, I use all the skills. DD isn't great against humans.... I would try to find a star active skill damage on armor instead. I've found 2 8.2% active skill damage when maxed out.

it's a new buff icon. it's basically like rage, but gives 50% atk boost. before we used tengen+yamamba. Now we use carnage/rage + nepeppoop. could use yamamba on top but harder to pull off on average due to short durations and needing more anima.
